Do alot of people have 2-person routines/freestyles? If so, do most of the time they do versus or double? I'm new at freestyling, and I'd like to get some tips. Also, what would be some good steps for LTR on light Versus with two people. I know it's overdone, but my hetero life mate and I wish to do this song. Also, does anyone have clips of doubles freestyles, so we could get some ideas. Any help is appreciated. Ok mates, Thanks! beerchug.gif

Sad to say, that I rarely see any couples or group routines at all lately. Sure there are a few people who have done many couples routines or group routines, with some even more than just one freestyle, it is sad to say that it is a rare occurrence. I personally would like to see more performances by couples/groups on DDR.

When it comes to 2-or-more person routines/freestyles, it really all comes down to the song and the steps that you feel that you and your partner(s) are able to handle and are able to create a routine from.

One of the simple ways to make a couples routine is to create one routine as if one person were to do it alone, then have the other person do the same thing... from there you might be able to take advantage of some steps where you might be able to interact with your partner or change things up where you might be able to move around, or do any other possible power moves.

For those that are unaware of the couples routine I did with KitHero for MGL 3vil, it was the song "Get Up N Move", done on doubles, standard little. While many have done it on versus, it really all depended on the step pattern, and being able to use the long gaps in ways that haven't been seen on a DDR machine. In this case, one should work with his/her partner(s), and try to come up with stuff that both of you can do, and create an entertaining routine for the judges to appreciate.

I'm not sure when MGL 3vil's other videos will be posted...

However, I'd like to see the performance of Mr. Hypnotikz and CaptainCanada last Tuesday (August 10, 2004) of Long Train Runnin' as recreated from Mr. Hypnotikz winning performance from 2002, and was ripped off by CaptainCanada for this year's Freestyle Revolution Project.

What songs were used in that video? The only one I could pick out was Wonderland.

Hi everybody, I've been Working on a free style routine and I finally found a good one... ...I think. Anyway, at first I was going to do Long Train Runnin', but I already see people doing that all the time, so, here it is I decided on "Midnightblaze" (Light Mode) I've covered all the spins and almost memorized it. Does Anyone have any other ideas I can add.

Thanks, Zack

First off: Midnite Blaze - good choice, if squeaky. Nobody ever uses that song (save for CuteArrow) and I have a soft spot for it and its 4th mix sound.

Wendell: I WANT MY HYPNOTIKZ/ME VID TOO. Even though it probably turned out semi-lame since we didn't know the routine as well as we used to. I want it.

Alien Temple, Wonderland, The Biggest Roaster, and Fly Away. I wanted Radical Faith and Total Recall to get randomly called up, but eh.

For everyone's information, that was round 4 of my improv tournament, where we just played Beatmania songs off a CD and let the remaining freestylers dance against each other - it got a good response, regardless of the contestants' experience (which Fuzzy Hat actually has, fyi). You want to compare these guys to those off of mrwiggleshiphop.net, fine. But hey, I figured that showing freestylers off the pad would be fun, cause it sure as hell was for the dancers and that room.

mostly just do arm movements like in Hypnoticz LTR routine, and moves from A-Jay's Let's Get Down, and you will have an outstanding routine

No one can really give you advice on a routine...then it really wouldn't be YOUR routine.

If youre not creative enough to come up with one...then stop wasting your time.

You need to have your OWN style. and owns thoughts..what not.

I was getting pretty bored with trying to pass 9 footers, so I decided to try a little freestyling. The first song I's currently working with is Stomp to my Beat on Light. I've been trying to look for ideas on how to put some good moves on, and all I have is a 44 second clip of a guy who tried to pass the same song, but screwed up. Anyone have any good ideas for things to do on Stomp to My Beat? Also, videos would be greatly appreciated.

I'd venture a guess and say that you don't know how STMB has been freestyled out of existence. STMB routines are as rare as DRave routines nowadays.

*Groans*

Freestyle haunts me... After AX, I never wanna try again... So damn embarassing... ((I was that asian guy who did electro tuned... I'm working on a POLISHED one now... what I did up there was my crappy improptu mixed with HUGE ammounts of stress))

But in lieu of that, I continue... LOL, shows you how persistent I am.

In terms of STMB, we need a kid_zero revamp ^ ^. It's a great song to do, and very open to more ideas, I would think. ((I'm pretty sure its used alot though))

Freestyle Tips? Sadly, I'm a horrid one, but I have slight ideas... And maybe they'll help. But I'm a slide freak, just gotta work on my upper body.

If you have Bust-a-groove, that's probably one of the best examples of DDR style you can get at. ((I'm focusing on Shorty Miracle Moon, looks pretty good, and smells slightly original! OMG)) It might be an old buttocks game, but its a good coreography... thingy. ((Lol, come back to us Avex, your music owns Naoki... sometimes))

Midnight blaze is a tough song to freestyle. I never could get it. It's a relatively high energy song, and fluid plants and kicks seem to go well. I don't know a good dance style for it other than "Naoki" ((Or tricking out the whole song with flowing kicks and DDR shinadigains)) Or just doing good arm movements... Oh well...

Regardless, good luck all you Fsers, the game is practice... and it took alot for me to be a slider...

laugh.gif

I'll post more maybe, I gotta eat... BAD!

NICE

I think Reign was working on an edit of DR. I've also come close to trying out a song that everyone makes fun of for being handslaptacular (say, D2R or 1998), but revamping the song with actual dance moves. Then again, I'm lazy and prefer beginner steps on stuff like Air, so hey. =p
