My IP is banned, but my account still works? O__o

I'm so confused.

About a month ago, I got the message "
You have been banned from this forum
Please contact the webmaster or board administrator for more information

"
while trying to go on the forums here. Since I had just learned
how to use a proxy, I accessed the forums through a proxy server,
got into my account, logged in, and even posted with it. I was
really confused about how I could have gotten banned, but I just
figured that it was some kind of little mistake with a logical
reason behind it.

About a week ago, I sent an email to [email protected],
and have yet to get a reply. I figured that I might as well
post here, and hope for the best.

I'm not revealing my IP address on the boards for obvious reasons,
if an Admin would like to know, just let me know, and I'll tell you
in a PM. (The IP address that's logged in this post would be the
proxy server I use if I have to for things.)

Chances are your IP was banned because another user was banned and used the same IP at some point. So we IP banned that and now you're using it...and so it bans you as well.

PM me the IP and I'll look in to it.
