A newbie is someone who has only been playing for a week or two. I consider a newbie being someone who is on low heavy barely passing freckles. Also I don't know if I would be a newbie compared to some people cuz I have only been playing for 10 months, but I can AA songs like Sakura and Destiny Lovers.

Some of the best players in the Mid-Atlantic area stomp on the pads HARD and also bar-rape like crazy.

In my own terms i would consider myself a newbie. Lol, ive only been playing for about a week now and i can barely pass 3 footers (E, D). But i know i will get better and that's why i keep trying even tho when there are better players there

i dont know how many times this can be posted...
a newbie is how you say a person is new to something and unexperienced.

by the way, off-topic posts are what get threads locked. frust.gif

Well I think this thread should be locked simply on the fact that the question has been answered, many times. Then again I'm not a mod so I don't know.

Well, I don't really think emitting opinions on "if this thread should be locked or not" is a good idea. Last time, it happenned, warning points were issued, since nobody turned the involved thread into a flamefest.

Now to get back on topic...

Newbie: someone who is new to an activity/hobby/profession/community. As for DDR, it's simple someone who plays for the very first time, or that is a rookie. It has nothing to do with behaviour, or habits, not even with the attitude. Being new has nothing to do with being a quitter (leaving the game, thus giving out a free game to some lucky dude in the process), nor does it have anything to do with being a jerk (aka "obnoxious n00b"-type attitude, as people may call it). Any omfgleet player who gets off the pad because he broke his AAA attempt on a hard song is just as much of a quitter as the newbie who tries his first song, and can't follow. And any annoying elitist player is just as much of a jerk as the "obnoxious n00b".
