when i was in gameworks (my first time there)( you have to swipe ur card to get credits ) someone was playing and i was the only one around.. when his thrid song was up someone else just walked up and swiped there card. After the thrid song i started to walk onto the platform and the dude that wiped his card was like "DUDE I SWIPED GET UR A$$ OFF THE DANCE MAT". so mean he was pretty bad though and i just walked on after his song, swiped my card like 5 times and started playing. He said "You CANT DO THAT!" and i just ignored him and played all 5 times . good times... _________________

If you want to know the truth, that was pretty "rude and obnoxious" too |

Really? I've always found the DDR fanbase in Pittsburgh to be really nice (Note to self: Don't play at the Century 3 Mall).
If you're close enough, come to Wildwood Highlands or FFA sometime. A lot of nice guys (many of them pretty damn good at the game) hang out there, although FFA is usually devoid of DDR'ers. |

u guys think thats rude?
Well, during the game i always push a friend out of the pad. i dont know why i do that. it must be that they stomp too damn loud. the bad part is i fall on this 3 year old kid once. well luckly, i got hold on the bar. btw my friend pushed me back. the 1st time he did it and he missed and fall on his butt trying to trip me on my legs during the game on the same song. _________________

It's annoying when people assume that I don't know what a coin line is or how to play DDR. I'm thinking it's because I'm a girl and most of the guys who assume that I have no idea what DDR is are, like, 16 or so >_> <_< And it's a pet peeve of mine -- a slight annoyance, nothing horribly rude -- when people choose the same songs you can just play at home. Wow, you can do So Deep on Heavy. Want a cookie? That's why I try to play the songs that other people neglect, just so that the audience/people in the coin line have something interesting and different to listen to
For the record, people who jump up on the unused 2P pad and try to mimic you, either seriously or not seriously, should have their feet stomped on repeatedly. It's ok if they ask you, and they're serious about shadowing you, but anything other than that is just rude! |

I was in the middle of 321 Stars when some random chick jumped on stage and shadowed me. Normally, it isn't a problem for me, but the stage tends to wobble, and it threw me off a bit, but I remained steady... and became extremely annoyed . After the song, I would've probably said "OFF WITH YE" if it weren't for the fact that she was kinda cute and was pretty much on step through the rest of the song, but I thought to myself "OK, ya wanna shadow me? Then KEEP UP WITH THIS!" and proceeded to pick Afronova. She kept up, so with my final song, I thought "Hmmm...let's send her for a ride..."
Max 300. 'Nuff said. She quit about halfway through and I finished with content. I didn't say anything to her, but I'm sure that she'll think before she shadows .
(all of the preceding songs were done on STD.) _________________

Yeah, I'm going to sound like a complete idiot in this post...so be warned.
I don't really see what the hell is wrong with shadowing. From what I can gather, it's just dancing along on the unused pad, right? They aren't taking your money, they aren't bothering you...they're just trying to dance along, maybe get a feel for some of the steps, and it's really not detrimental to your gameplay unless they swing their arms around wildly and hit you. It's not like you're using the pad, or like they're changing your options or songs...you're getting what you want, and possibly helping someone else out in the process. Them asking you beforehand is always a good thing, but still...
So what's the problem? |

First off, it's annoying and it does distract people while they play. Second, it makes people who shadow look like idiots(moreso than actually playing DDR). Seriously, try taking moves off the dancing game and anywhere else, and you'll see what I mean. _________________

I suppose I can see your point. It seems to me that it'd just be like playing versus with someone, but whatever. o_O |

They kept asking me for money so they can play, and I obviously said hell no because 1. they were ugly as hell, 2. they're 12, I'm 16 1/2, 3. they were bothering a friend of mine who was playing, and 4. NO! They kept asking me and I kept saying no, so they came back with their brother (who was exactly my size) and he told me to get off the machine. I told him to get the hell out of my face, which he did right away. But then while I was playing LOM on heavy (something I really can't beat), I got to the freeze arrow part and one of them started yelling, and the other got between me and the screen, so I obviously failed. Then they had the nerve to ask me for money again. So I told them if they wanted money so bad they should ask their pimp nicely for some extra cash, called them both stupid b.itches, and left. Its never been my intention to degrade a lady, no matter what their age was, but those to stupid little girls made contemplate hitting a women for the first time in my entire life. |
hmm interesting, as a black girl who isn't 12 this kind of pisses me off. I've never really had this happen to me but it just makes girls like me look bad. -sighs- I mean it just makes it hard for me because people may give me the evil eye because of those people. (the only thing I have gotten though is that either I'm crazy, or that I'm not black because I play DDR well or I get critisized for playing doubles which you as if they wanted to play with me and I'm hogging the machine from them, oh well) |

I know exactly what your talking about, but that doesn't really happen where I play because about 70% of the people who play there are good people (and because a black girl who is above the age of 12 is one of the top ten people who play there regularly). _________________

I've never had a problem here in NM, all the players here are nice. Except for one time, there was a guy in our arcade, and he was playing on light and beating all of his friends, and thought he was a bada$$, and he kept shouting "Is there anyone in this little arcade that can beat me?" So, of course I, the really defensive person of our arcade, got pretty pissed, and selected heavy against him. He freaked out, and I mopped the floor with him. He shut up. _________________

I'v had a few problems at the arcade... mostly just a few punk teens (which is my age... :-/ ) being little jerks, thinking that their friends will like them more if they make fun of the people playing. Most of my friends that havn't seen me play, and just randomly walk into the arcade at the mall think it's pretty cool what I'm doing. But, about two weeks ago, this guy I know, Collin, who I go to school with, and has been to my house to play DDR multiple times walked into the arcade. I'm on the pad, doing Can't Stop Falling In Love Speed Mix (my favorite song), and the kid thinks he can impress his friends by jumping in front of me and making fun of me, like pretending to play ddr like a retard (literally, not trying to be mean). So, I come to the crossovers near then end, and he's starting to really bug me... I shout out "Shut the frick up and get out of here before I get off this pad and kill you." He left. A few days later, he calls me and acts like we're cool. I just hung up on him. Apparently, when I was away from home, he came over to try and hang out. My friend who was there told him to get out.
Anyways, the kid lost about 90 percent of the respect I had for him, expecially since he plays DDR and knows how difficult it can be, and I refuse to talk to him. I'm pretty sure that friendship is over.
Sorry, that kinda got a bit offtopic... _________________
