3500 calories are in a pound of fat.

Totally different for a pound of muscle... but this isn't really related to DDR, is it?

yes, but DDR shouldn't be a diet game. It should be a music game, not an exersise game.

Hmmmmm this is gonna be very interesting, just keep burning calories, over 3500,35 songs, shouldn't take too long, and then Go play another 35 songs......heh.....of course, how accurate IS the calorie counter in Workoutmode is the true question....

Heh, that's something I wonder myself as it doesn't seem to be all that consistent from mix to mix. Once, I was playing Diet Mode in DDR Best Hits, and some songs that really wore me out at the time, Captain Jack Trick, for example, and my reading at the end of the song was only 27 calories. o_O Then I went and played Hero Happy Grandale Mix Trick on 4th Mix, a song with a lot of jumps, and that came out to about 42 calories. o_o? Even weirder, apparently Broken My Heart Heavy on DDRMAX US is only good for about 50 calories or so. Sorta has me convinced that counter isn't accurate at all. laugh.gif

I really do have to wonder as well. I played Maxx Unlimited light and it said it burned off 30 calories....whereas something like Afronova on heavy got only 31, and Afronova on heavy is much harder than Maxx Unlimited on light. o_O You'd think that Afronova would burn much more than that...

Indeed, its peculiar indeed, mainly because on some songs I burn like, 100 calories, the very hard ones though that I can pass (drop out and such) but when i go to my cousins house, I only get like 40 calories. I didn't miss too many either so it really does bamboozle me. E19.gif

I have yet to wet my whistle on the home versions... but I do want to buy them. E1.gif

DDR is/was not meant as a "Workout Machine" but that is how I look at it. A REALLY FUN workout machine. I'm hoping the home versions will be worth my $$$ .. just seems to be a bit of an issue with the calorie monitor it seems. laugh.gif

Yes, they do offer it, but it shouldnt be viewed as an exersise game. Just read Akira Yamoka's 2nd interview at DDRSpot.
