Hey, do you guys reccomend me to buy a Red Octane Metal Pad or a Cobalt Flux?

I'm going to buy a metal pad and I've narrowed it down to one of these two.

Thanks. E1.gif

I own a cobaltflux (just got it a day ago) and i have to say its great. My scores went up instantly first itime i tried the flux. Using my softmat i was able to pass standard songs with C/B, using the flux I got A's on every one of them. And songs that I usualy got A's on with soft I got an AA using flux.

DO NOT buy a Red Octane! I bought two and they're terrible. Read my original post on page 80.

So I got my Cobalt Fluxes today and I was wondering what the timing I need to put it on should be. I read the thing at the cobaltflux forums on timing and it said +1 or +2 for Max2 US. Which one do you guys have it on? I have Max2 US.

I got mine a few days ago and am using +1 timing on DDR Max2. I haven't tried DDR Max yet. I tried +3 and +2 first but it didn't work too well for me. So try it with +1 first, and see if that works for you too.

mae bee u showd reed page won 0r yous da surch. http://www.ddrfreak.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=56040&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

colbalt flux is all flat, redoctane's buttons 'flex' down a decent amount, I have one and the buttons do have definition, but the pad itself flexs around. The quality of redoctane is not that great though, if you want an arcade style pad you probally have to build one yourself.

Okay, I bought this pad http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8118182815 (GO TO LINK), off of ebay, and the left arrow is NOT working after ONLY ONE WEEK!!! I opened it up to look at, but I wasn't sure what to look for. Everything looked okay. It doesn't have the copper sheet stuff, I believe its alluminum. And its making me mad, I tried contacting the guy 3days ago, but he hasn't e-mailed me back. I'd like to PLEASE know how to fix it, my brother is dying to play again. And he WONT stop nagging ME until I FIX IT!!! biggrin.gif

THANKYOU & GOD BLESS ~Amy

Hi Amy,

Look closely at the copper metal contact with lines on the bottom of the pad. There should be a red and wihte wires that suppose to connect to that contact. IF it is disconnected, your arrow panel will not registered. You will need to reconnect it by soldering it back on.

The other thing to look for is to make sure the surface of the contact are clean and the aluminum foil under the arrow panel are not torn and stuck on the copper metal contact.

Hope this help you get it working again.

Remove the arrow panel and clean the surface of the contact with rubbing alchol. Keep the contact surface clean is the best way to maintaining g the sensitivity and playability of your pad for a long long time.

The left sensor on my RedOctane Metal Pad is completely shot. How might I go about finding a replacement one? The pad is less then a year old and has been like this for several weeks now. This is my only good pad (others are crappy 20 dollar ones that won't stay in one spot for more then 3 steps) and haven't been able to get in any DDR. My skills are slipping! Someone help!

Judysdeals sells a pretty good metal pad for 100 bucks. just go to ebay then video games and search DDR metal pad. it should turn out. with the 40 bucks shipping its 10 bucks more than what ur willing, but what's 10 bucks anyway? riiight.gif

There are a few differences.

1. BNS use poly carbonate panels, not cheap acyrylic.
2. BNS uses a copper on sheet metal contact (I think....) while TX1000 uses foil.
3. BNS lasts longer.
4. The full frame of the BNS pad is metal.

I've decided I'll probably get a cobalt flux, but I'm waiting for the xbox control box. They said that one was in development and would be out by the end of august. Do they mean the exact end of august, like the 31st, or can we expect it sooner? E19.gif

It means they will try to aim to get it out at the end of August. You can't rush perfection. For further info I'd check the website and the forums. Also for the completely dumb of you here it is.

http://cobaltflux.com

http://www.cobaltflux.com/forum/

You can guess which one is the forums...the sad part is, one of you will get it wrong. Happy hunting!
