I don't mean to start a foot-rating "versus" discussion or whatever, but I'm just curious as to why this was made into a 9 footer when there's nothing complicated about it. |

What's your best grade on Electro Tuned?
In case you haven't noticed, it's pretty difficult to PA it. I could understand if it had less arrows and the same pattern that it could be an 8, but as it is now I believe it deserves its rating. |

Didn't it come out on 5th Mix? I believe it did. So trying to PA those steps on 1x when you had no speed options...I believe it should be a 9-footer.
On the subject of Electro Tuned, the machine doesn't mention a speed change, but I always think it slows down just after the beginning steps. Am I correct on this?

It slows down by 9 BPM during the first gallops and is the only slight tempo change I have EVER noticed. EVER. Anyway, probably because it has double steps equal to 20 BPM less than a 1/8 double step on drop out. |

You my friend, are correct. In fact, it slows down not only once, twice, but a total of 12 times!!! If you just so happen to play, and you pick Electro Tuned, look VERY closely. |
Holy crap... yeah, that's probably right. There aren't too many songs that'd change tempo more times than that, either.
As for it being a nine footer... 16th double taps inside of 16th triplets? Hmm, I wonder why it might be a 9. Possibly because that *one* part has some of the most annoyingly simple yet nasty steps in the game. _________________

Electro Tuned should be a 9 cuz of it's steps...like everyone has said, it must've been hard to PA without the speed mods... _________________

Yeah, Electro Tuned is famous for its Easy to beat, hard to PA trait. It's a pain in the nuts on the Road of TaQ course, because if you screw up one step, chances are that the rest are going down fairly soon. However, if you catch the rhythm early, it becomes only a minor nuisance. It deserves its nine-ness. _________________

It's a 9 footer because the DDR fairy-god at Konami tapped it with it's majikal tokens of sweat and funk and said "Behold!!! 9 footer you shall be.....make biotches of all that try you for the first time!"
...and thus it was done.

Ahh, okay, I have to factor in the 1x speed into this, like I keep forgetting to do. I'll take that into consideration. Thank you. |

No, that would be Kakumei or I feel. Paranoia Kcet is uber-easy, though. None of those three should be nine feet, at least not in difficulty to pass. Maybe they're hard to PA or something. |

IMO, Kakumei is pretty tough. It's like the only 9 I can't consistently A or AA. (I can consisntently A So Deep and Exotic Ethnic, but not Kakumei!) _________________

Songs that are rated 8s are rated 8s because Konami said so.
Songs that are rated 9s are rated 9s because Konami said so.
Sometimes 8s are hard.
Sometimes 9s are easy.
Sometimes one person finds a given song easier than another person.
This topic has been beaten to death, exhumed, resurrected and beaten to death again. There has been enough text exchanged on this subject to fill a 3,000 page volume and none of it has accomplished anything ever. In short, the discussion of DDR song ratings is less than worthless. Just play the damn game.
Thank you and have a pleasant day. _________________

Wow, yet just another opinion. People have the right to inquire about things, you know.
Hmmm, but yes, it is an easy 9, that shouldn't be a 9. So what if it's easy to PA, the foot rating, I don't think, is for PA purposes. It should be a (hard) 8. _________________

grammar: it's what's for dinner.
And who the hell cares? It should be a 9 because konami said so. They did away with foot ratings entirely for DDRMAX, and you don't see people questioning how hard some songs are from that mix that did get foot ratings in later mixes. And anyway, at a certain point all songs lose their foot ratings because they all become easy, so perhaps your view on it is a little skewed.
Electro Tuned has a lot of repeated 16th notes and an ever-changing step-rhythm that makes it very difficult to play in general. Even if the foot rating isn't based on how hard the song is to PA, I'm sure very few heavy players feel happy with their score when they sight read that song, but that's just my view on it. |

It's also totally irrelevant to this conversation.

Apparently you do or you wouldn't be posting here in the first place.

And everyone else has their own views. Why is everyone else's input a huge waste of time on a topic that nobody cares about, whereas your opinion is not?
I think electro tuned is easily worthy of 9 status. |

capitalization is a typing error that stems from laziness gained from using Microsoft Word too much. not a grammar error or a failure to relay my thoughts concisely.
I believe what the person meant was "so what if it isn't easy to PA? the rating shouldn't be based on PA." I took that and made what would normally be considered a "joke" out of it. had I been serious, you could've counted on seeing "learn some f*cking english!" instead of a lighthearted poke.
and you took my comment out of context. please do not do that, it's pretty annoying. when I say "who the hell cares?" it has nothing to do with my reason for posting or anyone elses reason for expressing their opinions. I was saying that the ratings are fairly pointless after a certain point. that was my opinion. these threads have been made over and over again, and it always comes to the same conclusion: konami gave it the rating. if they see a reason to change it, they will like they have done with other songs in the past.
now I wouldn't expect you to know that since you've got roughly 20 posts. I myself have about 750 or so...haven't checked in awhile so it's almost assuradely higher, but at any rate, I'm used to flamebait at this point. there wasn't any need to single out my opinion, though I can understand why you would point out my joke (it's an old one, by the way). please calm down, you didn't need to do all of that to state your opinion, seeing as you ended up agreeing with me anyway. |
