Here are some links and info:
PSMPlayer: cut down midi's easily, remove instruments, etc.
http://www.mobiledia.com/forum/topic3624-0-asc-0.html
tagtag.com: upload files and download'em from your WAP browser, which is the internet on your phone. (Worked with Nokia 3595 with Cingular service)
http://www.tagtag.com/
SprintUsers Focus Uploader: Activated by your PCS Vision service, upload files and it sends it to your phone. (Worked with my Samsung Ai660)
http://www.sprintusers.com/focus/
Qualcomm's Pure Voice: Just in case you need a Wav or Mp3 to be converted to QCP. (My Samsung Ai660 is compatible with QCP)
http://www.cdmatech.com/solutions/products/purevoice.jsp
Other things that you'll might have to find:
Cakewalk: edit midi instruments or compile/mix a song. bigger program than PSMPlayer
Sound Recorder: everyone has it on their computer. Use it when your having trouble converting to the right WAV format before you convert to QCP.
3gupload.com: do you have to pay 5 bucks before you can download unlimited files?
Rap&RB files: this is the only place I can find the latest songs. it's getting older now.

If you still have trouble, refer to these geeks:

well, it depends. if ur phone is about a year or two old, then it might. type in the name of ur phone in google. ex. mortorolla t720. somewhere it should say if ur phone has polyphonic ringtones, then it will sound good. it all depends on the phone. even if ur phone is mp3 capable, it wont make a difference cuz there midis. anyone having trouble logging onto tagtag.com? i cant get in. "internal error" or something. _________________

incase it hasnt been posted about any modern sprint phone
*edit* just saw a few posts up the sprintusers.com uploader was posted as well.
sprint users
If you have sprint and can send text messages, then you probally have vision. You can get all your songs here, http://www.geocities.com/phantomhaunter/dancedancerevolution.html and upload them here http://rumkin.com/tools/sprint/index.php . Google.com also brings up any song you need.
If you don't have vision it's only $0.01 per KB. |

I am a little sad the the only way (seemingly) to get ringtones on my phone (samsung x427) is by using the internet.
I'm on a plan with my parents, so they'll have to pay, and therefore find out, so then I'll die, and be without my cute phone.
I have a general question though. When you put on ringtones, do you get charged for them monthly, or is it a once and done thing? My dad won't answer me because he thinks i'm gonna go phone crazy on him. And these free ringtones, if you find a way to transfer them (via cable) does it cost anything at all? _________________

Luckily that's a dead link. I still need help with my phone. All I need is like the button combos to compose some tones on my Verizon Wireless Motorola 120C. _________________

-StrouD-
when u upload the ringtone, go to new WAP site, then make the site, then go to link (i think its called link or "add link") and then it should say ringtones. then u choose from a list of the ringtones u uploaded. its really easy.
Little Firefly
If you do buy the cable, like to connect the phone to the computer, its free. but some cables can be a whooping 80$ (like for motorolas) but if you download them from a WAP site, your gunna pay for it. if you subscribed for a plan for ex. Unlimited Browser access for 5$ a month then it dfoesnt cost you. but if u dont have a plan for your browser, your most likely get charged 5 cents a kb no matter what u do on the browser. so then a song will be maybe 40 cents or so. hope it helps _________________

Verizon Wireless Customers, unless you have a cable for your phone to your computer, which can be obtained easily over the net for $10 or at radio shack for $20, you're almost completely screwed. From reading this thread, I guess it is possible through a camera phone's email capabilities. WAP downloads dont work with verizon, EX. I can get to the page, FREE without paying $5 a month for verizons mobile web service(PM me for details if youd like), but i can't download things from links. I'm not sure how this works on a newer Mobile Web 2.0 capable phone such as the vx6600 (right #?) and the moto v710(and no bluetooth file transfer on that phone because Verizon disabled it because theyre a bunch of getitnow money whores). I have a Moto T720, and have to run a bunch of hacking crap to get tones and pics onto my phone through the computer. I must say it's worth it though.
Edit: And I hear for most phones, the midi file needs to be converted to a midi type 0 file, and i know at least with my phone it needs to be 45 seconds or shorter. |

Good news for Motorola 120C users. I pieced together Love (Heart) Shine and The Whistle Song by just figuring out the notes on a keyboard and then composing them in My Tones. If you want the notes then PM or IM me because they are kind of lengthy.
If you have a request PM or IM me and I'll see what I can do. I have all of the DDR soundtracks so if it's not too complex I can probably make it for you. _________________
