I thought this topic was for freestyling tips...
I'm pretty good for kneedrops at the end of a song (kind of my signature move ).
EDIT: Wow, just read the first post in this long line of a topic. Yes, that does sum it all up. I think a kneedrop is a nice finisher though . _________________

Kneedrop is a nice finisher for your leg, not for a freestyle. Most kneedrops end in pain. _________________

I just started Free Styling, but I can't think of moves or which song to free style! So far I've just been doing spins and knee drops on Long Train Runnin' (standard)
Hope Someone can help. |

LMFAO! damn straight, i think i said this before, only use hand slaps and knee drops if only they are legit dance moves used by dancers/singers/entertainers ie Usher _________________

so no1 getz me rong ima tell u right now im not a freestyler. but i do kno a few good tips. first make sure ur rutine flows. cuz the crowd can tell if u dont excecute the moves right. also try not to stomp hard on the machine it doesnt look or sound kool so try to stay light on ur feet. try to smile at the crowd and look away from the screen as much as posible if u look like ur havein fun the crowd will love it. if ur realy into free stylin come in costume. if ur playin superstar come in a pimped out outfit. if ur playin cow girl come wit a fake pony and cow boy hat and boots. its also funni. hehehe. and if ur playin wit a freind on doulbe make sure ur totaly insync cuz i kno i dont wanna see two ppl not doin the sdame rutine but are on two totaly diff parts. and most of all have fun. really i think that freestyling cant be learned it has to be felt. it has to come from u. totaly natural. _________________

RKO21: As for that R, U, D, L pattern...yeah, you could slide those, but we've all seen handslapper arrow-to-arrow sliding enough. Got a few variations:
- Stand with feet on the R and U, sway left and right a little for a couple counts while hitting both at the same time (you get perfects)...push out your arms forward and "push" yourself back to D and L with a tiny jump, hit both in the same fashion. I think I do it in my dumbKind Lady improv actually...song's got way too many arrows. :\
- Stand in the middle (beginner style). Hit R and U with your right foot , pivoting to the left, and then do the same thing with your left foot for D and L, pivoting right. It's good to follow up the first two counts with something symmetrical for the second two.
- Stand in the middle, hit all of them with your right foot, just crossing it behind your left leg for U to D, then crossing back over for L.
The way I see it, the best way to hit a lot of arrows and still maintain composure...don't move your feet too much (i.e. don't stomp, like kingofhearts said), or else it'll start looking like DDR. =[ _________________

I have just gotten into the freestyle part of DDR. I don't have a routine but i am trying to start one. I feel those tips will help, but does anyone have any tips on how to get started. I am having so much trouble getting started, can anyone help me get started? _________________

Do alot of people have 2-person routines/freestyles? If so, do most of the time they do versus or double? I'm new at freestyling, and I'd like to get some tips. Also, what would be some good steps for LTR on light Versus with two people. I know it's overdone, but my hetero life mate and I wish to do this song. Also, does anyone have clips of doubles freestyles, so we could get some ideas. Any help is appreciated. Ok mates, Thanks! |

this post is more of a warning from experience. For anyone freestyling Long Train Runnin'(Standard/Trick level) , DO NOT use a knee drop on the last 8th note! I did this once, rolled over onto the floor and said many things that can not be posted here, along with many ows. |

that was one of the saddest battles ive ever seen.
that tutting was <--- thats all there really is to it.
but i agree, the best freestyling on ddr could and would be by a dancer. _________________
