A few questions about your take on DDR...

How often do you play? Daily? Weekly? Whenever friends are over?

If you play daily, how much time do you spend playing?

How long have you played? Have you played for a few years, or did you just start last week?

Random side bonus: How old are you? Do many people your age play?

As the topic starter, I'll answer my own questions. I play daily, for an hour or two. I've played for almost a year now, and have been a heavy mode player since Christmas. I'm fifteen and female, and I don't know many other girls that play DDR (I see about two regularly, besides the friends I brought into it)

I used to play daily at home, but now I make it to an arcade multiple times a week (since I work there and play while I work )
When I go to the arcade I can spend anywhere from an hour to 4 playing.
I've been playing for 1 year, 8 months, and 2 days.
I am 18/m and yes we have a bunch of 17-19 year olds who play and then younger and older players as well.

And I agree that regular female players are hard to come by, especially extremely good female Tech players.

play 3-4 times a week @ the arcade, maybe spend a few bucks each time..i switch back and forth between ddr and piu.

when i an EXTREAMLY bored i will play ddrmax on the ps2 controller (my pad broke, i see no use in spending money on another one)

i started playing about 8 months ago..

i am 15 right now (16 on the 11th hehe) and not a whole lot of ppl in my area play ddr..very few ppl play 9's and 10's. i believe myself, and maybe 3 other ppl have passed a 10 not including bag..so not a big ddr place =/

i think i skipped some questions or got 2 them out of order..its 2:39am and im actually rellie tired..lol so yeah, excuse me for that.

I agree about the hard to come by girls, I'm the best of the three I know. I can't AA any nines yet (except Paranoia KCET for some odd reason ) and the only ten I can pass (okay, the only one I've tried is Sakura with a B or a C. Other than the ten footers, I can A most heavy's. I'm one of the better ones in my area (Aurora, IL). It's hilarious when I see some guy in all his macho-ness strut into the arcade, scan me over, and assume that as a female I am either A) attached to one of the males in the room or B) some pathetic watcher if I'm not playing. Then he may challenge me, and about half the time I can beat the guy However, I'm in it more to have fun and to ensnare my friends

I am at the arcade pretty much every day (at least 5-7 times a week).

I generally play at least 2 hours when I am there, but usually around 3 hours (although some of that time is at the IIDX machine...). All told, I spend $30-50 a week at the arcade (it'd be more if it wasn't for token specials. Thank GOD for token specials!).

I started playing at the arcade about 6 months ago, but I've been playing home versions and the occasional arcade expedition for about 3 years.

And, bonus round! I am 22, male, and hardly any girls come in, let alone girls that are my age... .

i play atleast ten songs a day, whether it be at the arcade, home, or both im 14 years old, not one person around here thats 13-15 that can play 8-9 foot songs, let alone do great on em (a's, b's)

At the moment I probably play about an hour a week, although it varies.

I'm 15 [and female]. I have a couple friends that play [From 15-19 or so]. I dont know how many people in my area are my age/female because I only go to the arcade every few weeks. There's not one that's that close and I cant drive, so yeah.

I play 2 days a week at home and 2 days a week at the arcade. I spend an hour each time. I'm 24 and I don't know anybody my age who plays DDR regularly. I only know one or two guys older than me who plays.

I started playing DDR January 15th this year. I progressed alot faster than my friends (after a month I was on Heavy). I used to play daily, at least 3-4 hours a day. Obsess much? Now I play like 3 times a week for a few hours. But I play Step Mania non-stop all the time.

I'm 16 years old. Most of the (good) players in my area are in the age range of 18-25. Me and 3 of my Friends are the only ppl below 18 that are on heavy around here.

I've been playing for about two years and a month. I usually play at the arcade 1-4 times a week for about three or four hours per visit, depending on my mood, money, etc. I play at home on controller maybe once or twice a week for a couple of hours, usually when I get bored.

The ages of players in my area range from about 4-23, but mainly the 16-20 players are the ones focusing on PA. I'm 20 myself.

I play maybe at the most 4 times a week for 30-45 minutes.

I started playing January 2003.

I have to yet progress. I am not a frequent heavy player.

I usually only spent 1-2 hours at the most in an arcade, mainly due to my sister wanting to go home, or I run out of cash. (I usually only have a range of $4-8 on me).

I usually play every weekend on saturdays and sundays at the arcade and maybe two or three times in the week at my house with all the jap mixes and cf's. probably for 4 hours at my house and 6-7 hours at the arcade. I started in march and so yea only 5 months. I can play 10 footers regularly and can pass all of em except max. at my house and maxx unlimited at the arcade (sometimes PSMO at the arcade too).
I'm 16 and most people that play at my arcade are about my age if not a bit lower like 14-15

i can do most 9 footers. im working on songs like so deep and Maxx unlimited but my stamina is still too weak.

I always hear people saying that once you try to become a tech player, you can't just go back to having fun. In my experience, I can switch between wanting to AA a song and wanting to play DDR and have fun very often....(as in, between songs ) Does anybody else feel the same way? Or are you all either "have fun" or "AAA" people?

I play daily if I can
It's hard to spend as much time as I want since I work. I usually go daily for a 1 hr session on my break, then about 45mins after work (I work until midnight ) til Gameplex closes. Though, on my days off.. I go and play for easily 2-4 or more hours straight.. by myself, back to back.

I started playing around.. ohhh.. 8 or so months ago. I haven't really kept track of the time
I'm 23 and have other friends that I hang with at Gameplex, but mostly the peeps who play with me are 16-19. They can beat me hard on some songs 'cause I can't move my legs/body as fast for the likes of Max300 or Paranoia survivor.. or Saints go Marching in (All heavy of course).

There is only 1 girl that I've met who plays DDR rather well (she's cute too, big bonus ) but you girls are hard to come by. What the heck is wrong with the other girls?!

oh, wow. Forty-four? The only one close to that that I know is my mom, who's 46. When we bought our metal pad, it came while we (my three siblings and I) were all at school, and my mom played it "to make sure it worked" and ended up passing 3 beginner mode songs god, i love my mom
