Great song..

1) Is there a reason that the Oni version is seemingly easier than the Heavy? I thought Challenges were supposed to be harder..?

2) Does the Paranoia part creep out anyone else? @_@

1. Some challenge steps are easier than the heavy steps of the same song. See Kakumei.
2. Nah, its a throwback to the good old days of DDR where Paranoia was pretty difficult. Still is. E1.gif

Yeah, it was one of my first favorite songs. It still is to date. I play it, spins and all, to get crowds ^^

But I'm just saying the sound of it, the tick-tocking, the vague orchestra hits of Paranoia, that chick in the far far background talking...

Just cryptic to me..

Every played on a 1.5mix machine? That clicking sound you speak of is the sound it made when selecting songs. Think of it as from the hardest song from the beginning, to the hardest song now.

I was kinda disappointed that in the steps, at least in the DWI that I had and on the step charts here last time I checked, there's no left-right jump leading into a freeze that goes into the traditional Max Stop, nor at the end of the song. *sigh*

My bad... back on topic...
All Challenge steps are are the special steps for some Oni Courses, I imagine Max Quartet in this case.

Actually it's just the left+right note... No freeze.

Sowee

Paranoia was an awesome song and still is! I love how they put it in there just for the before and now... Amazing when we all thought Paranoia was CrAzY! Now it's just fun to play... for fun =P xD

I don't really like MAX.(period) very much, but the Paranoia part is awesome. I remember that the first time I saw DDR, the guy was playing Paranoia, and then he and his friends bragged about how many times they had beaten it. And when I got Konamix, my goal was to eventually beat Paranoia on light riiight.gif . Once I did, I thought I was the shiznit. So, yeah, the Paranoia part was kind of a trip back for me, as well as the second half of the credits thing on Extreme JP. (Man, was that an off topic post...)

I think Max.(Period) HEAVY is the only other song besides Paranoia Survivor Max Oni that made me go HOLY SH*T!

I think the jumps in the beginning are a little excessive on a pad, and isn't this song supposed to be a MAX....not Drop Out on LSD, thinking a nearby chair just trurned into 1000 snakes? Ah well, thats just me

*sigh* I get that, but its not the fact that they're playing Paranoia. Its just the WAY they do it.

MAX. (period) i thought, and still think, its teh shiznit i think its the best MAX so far, besides LOM, the paranoia part is cool...but theres no max stop that would scare the $hit out of you...it just just speeds up and kills your stamina....just wondering...when it does jump to 600 are the arrows on beat? cause if they are....damn thats hard

(if i could describe MAX.(period) in one word it would be...PAIN!!!)

yep, the arrows are on beat. they are quarternotes at 600bpm, which is exactly the same stepping speed for any run in max 300.

Max. (period) isn't that hard once you learn to read it, in my opinion. in fact, the big run at the end reminds me a lot of the run in dropout for a good portion of it. and there is a lot of downtime to build your lifebar back up in the paranoia part. also, you'll notice that the steps after the paranoia part follow the thumping of the bass line perfectly, so if you just listen to it enough, you'll know the step rhythms. not as hard as it seems :0)
