oh whats that? you HAVEN'T been playing since the first ddr game came out? pfft NOOB |
THANK YOU.

I agree, the "standard = noob" stereotype is very common. Around here, if the player is female, it doesn't seem to apply for some reason. |
EDIT: Sorry for the double post. Did not mean to do that. X_X
That's cause apparently there are more male DDRists than females...
I'm female and still considered myself a n00b when I was playing Standard mode for a full month. That's like, a third of the time I've even been playing DDR... _________________

Quote: | That anyone under 15 is bad at DDR, and will shadow you, pester you, and ruin your games. I'm 12, and it's so rude! I'm not Yasu, but I can still pass some 9 footers, I've managed to pass SSLM and MSL, and never shadow, or interfere while someones playing. Like, one guy was like "May I play by myself?" and I was like "fine" I could tell he was a little suprised that I didn't complain. It was fun watching cause I got to see him do bag on flat. That was cool. |
Damn straight.
I'm 10, and can pass most 9 footers with a B and get a C on Max300 heavy.Plus, I never shadow people or pester them. Anyone on here knows me in real life knows I'm not the most talkative kid for my age.
Another stereotype is if you can AA any one song on Heavy or Challenge, your a nerd. I've only AA'ed 2 heavy/challenge songs at the arcade (Love <3 Shine and Sexy Planet oni) and I don't really play both song a whole lot. |

That would be why they posted that in the 'stereotypes' thread.
PS: Stereotypes are fun to make fun of. My boyfriend is Japanese, and whenever he makes a really good score on any Bemani, we're all alike, "Pfft, it's only because you're *Asian*!!" We tease him about it. _________________

I hate the fact that whoever it is that changes things from import versions to make them more "Americanized" and more appealing to people who don't know about bemani, thinks that DDR is mainly for women. Just look at the inserts. DDRMAX and MAX2 Japanese versions had a real nice insert with the flaming logo and good background, nothing bad there. But with the american version, someone had to throw on a girl in high heels on a platform in a pose doing things that the regular DDR player, average male teen (I think it's safe to say that the average DDR player is a male and not a female), would never do. It's like, if the game only had the regular logo, the people who made the change thought that people wouldn't know what the game is about, so they thought and decided that the game is best represented by showing the exact opposite of what the average DDR player does and looks like. It just makes me really mad that we constantly have to have these female dancers on the cover because some person who doesn't know DDR too well thinks that's the target audience. Gah! |

I agree. I'm a girl who plays and I've only seen about 4 girls who play on heavy. I don't think I'd ever play in high heels though. (although I play pretty decently in platforms ) |
