i've tried DDR in upper floors, and the entire house shook, thats why the basement is my floor of choice.

Yeah, its cool with them, they just say

"Its gonna help your swimming, so sure!"

I even can crank up the volume as much as I want at any time at night as long as we don't get any calls from the neighbors....it did wake up a little kid once but all he did was ask if I could give him an hours worth of lessons which I did.

I play my DDR in the kitchen with a metal pad. I play in the kitchen because its the only room that wont shake the whole house to hell and back.

I live on the second floor of a apartment complex.
Im 6'2 and im around 235lbs

I feel bad for my neihbors sometimes.

I actually built a stand for my soft pad that absorbs shock so it doesnt sound like im bouncing a bowling ball to the people around me. Its basically a sandwich of cardboard and thick fabric and duct tape. It works to absorb some noise and doesnt effect my playing. I also got wireless headphones.

Mine's not that bad. I tend to keep the volume down to a decent decible level when a few or more people are in the house, but if it's just me and a friend or something we'll blast it all to hell. And I use soft pads, generally, so I don't make too much noise. riiight.gif

I play on the middle floor. We have a realllly nice finished basement. but Im usually the only one who comes down here, since the computer is here. (The only other time the family is here is for movies, partys and laundry. o.o) So my family doesnt really mind. Plus, the carpets in my living room (where I play) are REALLY squishy. I'd say it WOULD affect game play (I've played at other housed and I was SHOCKED XD) But I've grown realllllly used to it. Plus its better because my feet never hurt after stomping.

I dont really know why, since in my house you could just be TALKING in another room with the doors closed and people will hear you, but no one seems to mind when I play- even at night.
