When YOUR FAMILY knows the words to Candy <3 (or any other DDR song) (my family doesnt play DDR)

When you are on a trip and look in every arcade to see if they have DDR (or if you look in the location page to find one in the area)

When everyone makes fun of you for being obsessed and you still play (F*** em' all they suck)

And basically all the other ones apply to me aswell (cept for the ones about memerizing the Max's...ha ya rite riiight.gif )

When you're listening to music with your eyes closed and you see steps coming up to the top of your eyelids!

I don't necessarily think that #1 is a big sign of DDR obsession. Most people stop seeing arrows when they play after a week or so (I know I did). It's actually really common when you do any sort of patterned activity to see it when you close your eyes while your brain is getting used to sorting out where it fits in the world. Once you don't have to consciously consider something as much, the pattern stops (ie, when your brain gets used to how arrows look and scroll, you stop seeing them). I've had experiences with that from doing many, many different activities (mostly games, but not always).

Actually, it's probably more a sign of DDR obsession when you can play for 6 hours straight and then *not* see arrows. That means your brain is so used to the constant stream of arrows that they don't even register consciously anymore ;-)

thats very interesting, i never considered it but you're right.

on a side note to the "dreams" obsession, has anyone had any interesting dreams regarding ddr?

The scary thing is I've done most of these, lol. Especially the dancing on tiles. My god, I do that all the time without realizing it, lol.

What 3 times? Someone still take it? Or did you just lose it?

So if I wanted to go 2 turns in a row. (THe extra one is if I lose one of the other ones.) That is so no one will take your turn and money. biggrin.gif I am brilliant! (sp)

I know when a person plays too much DDR.

-When the local shoestores know you by name
-When Y2K came by, you went to Costco to stock up on Red Bull for your next arcade visit
-Your manager gives you your paycheck and asks what songs you plan to play next

Come to think of it, the employees of Journeys at Highland Mall in Austin DO know my name. I love my Converse!

You know you play too much DDR when you think songs that aren't on DDR are way too long.

• When you suffer a knee injury by playing DDR, and still grumble not because of the pain, but because you can't play

• When you sit at your desk at work, listening to DDR radio

• When you stomp out the steps under your desk while listening to DDR radio at work

• When you start making up DDR steps to music from OTHER video games, such as Final Fantasy

• When everyone at the local arcade doesn't know you by name, but knows you by the songs you're working on more regularly

• When you set aside $100 for the anime convention you're going to next month specifically to buy DDR soundtracks

When the manager at the local arcade invites you and a bunch of your DDR friends over to his house for dinner because you frequent his machine so much.

When said manager posts a timesheet of who gets the good pad when because everyone ignores the token line.

When you've done web layouts featuring the stepchart to 'X' song. (Erg.)
