There's no doubt about it! DDR's popularity in America is growing strong, and the upcoming releases of DDR Extreme for the PS2 and Ultramix 2 for Xbox will undoubtably lead to more American DDR console releases, for better or for worse.

The question I ask now is: If onscreen dancers continue to appear for newer mixes, what kind of new dancers would you like to pick? A few examples of mine:

-Mr. MaxX, the myserious hatted man that can be found in Genom Screams and most notably The legend of MAX. Noteworthy dance moves include "The Running Man" and throwing his hat off at the end of a song. If you play as him on the 1P side and AA 3 songs in the set, you unlock the guy who chases him in the songs featuring Mr. MaxX.

-DDR Guy, your typical DDR player. His dances moves are just stepping on a pad, in an effort to make you stop and think: Am I really dancing? 2P side gets DDR Girl, of course.

-Paula Terry, and we can only hope she can dance as well as she sings. E10.gif

-Riyu Kosaka, I don't think that needs explination. riiight.gif

Try to think of some of your own...and Konami, are you listening??

Sad to hear...but hey, I don't have any dancers on my home versions either. I'm just putting this question out because I've been thinking about this for a while now.

Everyone's been posting pretty good ideas so far, my favorites being the guy in the chicken suit, L.E.D. + Taka, and William Hung. I like all the ones posted, but those seem to be the best ones so far. The 2 girls accompanying Alice is pretty good, and Bam Magera...well, it'd be funny just to see. This is starting to get good. Keep going, guys!

A dancer I would like to see right?

Well how about Godzilla? He would be screaming and yelling. Throwing out flames and nucleaur gas. He would dance and a funny jig, hell he could even break dance on his tail. How could DDR ever be completed without one of Japan's most famous pop icons? biggrin.gif

You mean Train and Bus? They appeared in party collection. I want to see all of the japaneese home only charachters, like CowKo.

I'd rather see customizable characters, like in Amplitude.

For those who haven't played it, picture this: When you initially make your character, you have only the basics, like a t-shirt torso, blue jeans legs, and a normal guy's head. As you complete certain songs on different difficulty levels, you unlock more parts, limbs, and accessories. So by the time you unlock everything, you could have a character with a biker's helmet, robotic legs, an Indiana Jones vest, an angel's halo, and big, green sasquatch arms. E9.gif

I'd want an option like that in addition to the characters that are already included in the game. biggrin.gif

Non, the live video does get pretty annoying. It should be like the arcade where its just animation.

Anyway, I'd like to see other Konami characters:

- 1P: TwinBee, 2P: WinBee
- 1P: Solid Snake, 2P: Meryl
- 1P: Goemon, 2P: Yae
