Yes, I tryed starting a DDR club last year but was too late and was forced to wait to this year. No, problem though but our school is small and it would be hard to find a good amount of people who would actually be dedicated enough to come out once or twice a week to play. So hopefully things will go over okay next year wish me the best of luck. Although we didn't have a DDR club last year we had a Japanease culture club in which we learned part of the language and mostly how to write the symbols, but sometimes we watched anime and at the end of the year we had a ddr party finlly i got to show off my skills! But my friends that have seen me play a billion times werent the people I wanted to impress but its all good. Everybody thought we were freaks playing the really diffcult songs laugh.gif biggrin.gif nerd.gif

I might be starting up a DDR club with a couple of friends next school year. Actually, we have a more ambitious idea in mind. All the students and teachers in all the schools in our district are registered to a chat board [using the program 'first class'], which started out being used only to find out marks, and for homework help, but its evolved into a discussion board as well. Our scheme is to put the word out on that and call for other schools to start up DDR clubs. That way we could upgrade it from a club to an outright team, and have a tournament against the other schools at the end of the year. I realize its probably not doable, but it can't hurt to try.
Otherwise, one day at the end of the year a group of about 30 of us said to hell with our classes [they were just doing review anyway] and set up 2 TVs in an empty room and brought in 4 metal DDR pads and had a big DDR party. The same group of us also makes sure they play ddr songs on the morning announcements at our school every so often. Daikenkai is a popular choice.

A girl at my school, uber great friend of mine, started a club last year but never went through with it, so this year, I'm going to do the club and actually run it. Nothing against her, she just didn't have the time to do anything(she's always busy), but I do, so..yay!

Well, me and moonlight 5h4d0w are gonna try to start one at our school. I don't know how many people at our school are into DDR, but we're going to try.

there was a tournament coming up at the greenacres mall so some of the students brought a plastic pad and a ps2 so they can prepare at the school. They talked to one of the art teachers and convinced her to loan them the room for a week. I talked to her about the possibilities of a ddr club and even the profitable aspects of it but she had to go on maternity leave before she could bring it up to the principle and now I'm graduated so no ddr club for my school E2.gif

I'm going to be starting High School next year...but not in my town (accepted somewhere else) and I won't know anyone, so I'm thinking about starting a DDR club. I'm not a great player, but I really love it, and since I'm naturally shy, it might be a good way to make friends or something. What do you think?

I had sent my principal an e-mail about having ddr machines in school and he said it would be a great idea and he said that he would forward the message to one of our coaches. But I still haven't gotten a message back from the coach or the prinicpal and I sent that message like about 4 months ago or sumthin like that. I'm just gunna have to keep trying then.

Oh (edited) why didn't I think of that first??? That would be such a great idea. The school raises 500 bucks, gets two cobalt fluxes...Or more.....That would be so great...DDR tournaments too.....I gotta rejoin Student Council, get this idea into action.

This year I started a ddr club in school I had been thinking about it all year but didn't think it would work because only me and a few of my friends do it Towards the end of the year though we had this thing called spirit week and you can get away with almost anything, so I brought in my playstation my pad and brought the library T.V. down by our grades forum (I go to a small school and every grade has a forum where all the lockers are) Everyone started playing it and getting into it and so I started a club Even people who had never played before came and gave it a try (including our 70 pound spanish teacher) and the club was huge by the end of the year all you have to do is get it okayed with whoever is in charge of clubs at your school and find a teacher sponsor they will accept almost any club at most schools then you can have bakesales and raise money for pads after 4 bakesales we bought 2 metal pads and this year I am going to try and run a tournament This year I know of even more people who are trying to join Now we have a huge group of people who play ddr. We may even try to make it into a sport

We have an extreme machine at our highschool... we've had it for a year and 1/2... recently went from max2 to extreme.

Our ddr club didn't survive because no one gave a damn.

but never the less, we still have the machine.

here are some ways to convince your principal to get a machine in your school.

-After paying itself off, it only provides income for the school.
-Gives students something to do afterschool.
-Helps students stay fit.

Those are the three main area's that were focused on when we were trying to convince the principal.

Just try to give tons of support to the idea... remember you're probably going to have to be the one to take care of the pads... this year is my last so I got to keep them in good shape, then hand down the magical screwdriver.

and... tag the crap out of it before I go. laugh.gif
(right now I only have 1 score on most of them... but im in 1st anyways)

Oh if you dont believe me, go check ddr machine locations... maryland... then middletown.

it's there.

I've resubmitted my FAQ, this time to El Bastardo/Cutriss, so hopefully in a week or two, it'll be posted.

Not at my school...

All of my friends are very closeminded and love calling inanimate objects made in Japan "gay".

There's only one girl in my grade who actually plays, and even she thinks I'm obsessed (Oh noes! I passed teh cata!!!!).

ya that would be really cool to do, although im thinking about it i dont know if im the one 2 be starting the club and running it seeing as how im just a freshman and in a very demanding band i dont know if i have time to figure out all the athouratativeness of the whole idea of just having a machine, let alone the permission to be allowed to play it... it would be so much better if some1 else would do it, but ik if i want the club im probly going 2 have 2 b the 1 2 start it so mayb the next year or 2 i might gather enough guts to ask permission and have a good enough plan to begin somthing like that.... riiight.gif E2.gif

o well all the same i am just fine playing at my own house and at the arcades, no sence in doing somthing more when nothing more really gets done for me drool.gif
