Should i buy a non-slip pad from DDRGAME, or is it not safe to buy soft pads from the interent. I went to all the stores and i couldnt find the game or pad anywhere so i think my only option would be the itnerent but is it safe to buy a soft pad from the internet???

I would say its porbley not the best choose to buy one from but i think im gonna buy one from the internet also. Cuase im so mad at these soft pads that say they wont break there best.bull crap they are!! I spent $100 bucks on the new Ignition Dance Pad and they said "This is the best soft pad on the market. It will feel just like the arcade and will last for a very long time"? Now i ask? is 4 mounths really that long for a dance pad to last? So i will say this. NEVER BUY A SOFT DANCE PAD! They will allways break there made very cheap and coast way to much! So im just gonna buy a hard pad a metal one. Cuase here is what is wrong with my Ingition one i bought. There are whole on the top of the matt that just get bigger every day! i have to use duck tape to stop the holes and it still dosent work. Under it where u put the insert so its soft on ur feet. The whole inside has slits and holes everywhere! And those sensors that u can feel when u step on them are moving everywhere there not even on the arrows anymore there just all over! And i even riped it open to see how it works. It the same as all the others. Cheap inside with cheap little sensors,same mess,same everything the only diffrents is that they put in a foam insert,put a ziper in the side,and put those little senors rasiers in so it feels like the arrows are higher up?

Im not buying an expensive one, sinc eim new to DDR lets say its like a starter package that im buying, a non slip pad and the DDR Max 2 game will be included in it. So think i should buy it for 53$ and shiping costs...?

I'm new to DDR-At-Home...just got my XBox two or three weeks ago, plus my dancepad and DDRUltramix game.

Anyway... I've been trying to make sense of some of this dancepad talk...and some of it is leaving me totally confused. I'm not a "new" DDR player, per se (arcades are your friend!) but I AM new to the dancepad world XD

Anywho! To my point! I got a Naki "Dance Pad Revolution" which, appeared to be a new model exclusively for Xbox. I've been using it for the past two (or three? can't remember) weeks for, admitedly, a few hours a day... and I'm not having any problems with it. But I've been reading some of these posts that basically doom some dancepads to not workign after a few weeks? O_O Mine was only $20 so it's a 'cheap fix' if I have to just buy another one...but...yeah.

I was just wondering if anyone else had a Naki Dance Pad Revolution pad for Xbox...and how well it worked. ; I'm not a "serious" DDR player...I love it as much as the next person, but I play it for fun instead of "I'm going to win tournaments and show off in the arcade and learn all these cool tricks to do!" and the like o_O;

So yeah. Any information would be helpful ^-^

I'd say to forget the thin soft pads altogether. Not only will they last a short time, they aren't very nice to play on. Start with some kind of ignition pad, which could be as cheap as $50 shipped for a pair on eBay. Ignition-style pads are so dramatically nicer to play on than thin pads that the thin pads just aren't worth it, even at their lower cost.

I wouldn't recommend the ones from eBay seller yang32096, however. They wore out very quickly. I'm hoping the DDRNation pads from seller discount-auction will be better.

A serious player will also want hard foam like what LevelSix sells. It improves the playability and durability. I don't, however, recommend LevelSix pads, as they have thick inserts under the arrows which make them quite insensitive. LevelSix sells the foam separately for $10, and it's well worth it.

Soft pad modding is ok for beginners and helps your feet get used to shoes.Once you start hitting 8-10 foot songs, I would advise you to get a metal pad though.

Depends on your tastes I guess. I prefer the soft pad with hard foam over any hard pad. I like to play in socks.

for some reason my bns pads just died.. =\

the lights flash wen i press a button
but the buttons dont register into the game...
can't be the cable? since the lights work...and it needs the psone for power to light up


also another problem my memory slot 1 died o.o
ddr games dont let u load from slot 2 =\ doesnt let u select slot 2 in options ~.~

grr..help? ^^

It still could be the cable. There is more than one wire in the cable.

If you have an old dead soft pad, just swap the entire controller & cable.

Though, hard pad or not, I shall always play barefoot. I even do at the arcade. *heh*

Thats partially owing to the fact that I live at the beach and wear flipflops to the pier arcade, but you know.

I'm in need of advice.

I've had two Mad Catz soft pads (Don't barf on your keyboard) since the middle of June. I've gone from Beginner to Standard-Heavy, so you can imagine how much usage these pads have gotten. Right now they're just annoying. I've duct-taped them to the floor, and it definately solves the slipping issue, but I still get a lot of phantom-steps, which are what get to me the most. Can they be rescued? I'd like to plywood mod them, but I'm afraid they'll still suffer horribly from phantom steps. Would it help if I put weather-stripping between the pad and hardwood floor cover or something?
