You shouldn't shadow because the person might be playing double. I never play double because little kids are always getting on the other pad and shadow me.

I usualy dont mind shadowing, if their actual players.... If their just idiots wanting to be cool in front of his friends, I resist the urge to push them off the pad and into the nearest glass wall. (About a foot away from the pads)

There was this one time, where this group of black guys walking up to the machiene, they started to shadow me, their like, "Man this is hard" they were starting to distract me, I was doing my first cata! (Tsugaru Apple Mix) I was soooo close to finishing till they got in the way. No offense, but I hate some of the black people that hang out at the arcade I go to... and dont get me started on the Soul Calibur 2 and group of black people story.... disgust.gif Now that I mention it, dont get me started on the air hockey story nethier....

Where I play, hardly ANYONE plays the machine. I pretty much have free reign/dominate. happy.gif

But if I'm playing and someone wants to shadow, I grin and allow it. But I tell them that if they throw me off beat or bump into me during a song, then I'll have to ask them to step off the pad.

They agree, and I've never had a problem.

When it comes down to it, Shadowing is okay if it is under consent of the other player. If it isn't, then it's not okay.

Because of this, I usually ask the person if I can shadow before I try to do it, even if it's most likely that he/she wouldn't mind.

(Personally, I hate it when people shadow out of nowhere, without asking. 8 times out of 10, the other player will get annoyed.)
agrees with what he said. i dont really care if someone shadows, unless, im playing a hard song (i.e. MAX 300) and as long as they dont try to make any jokes or hit me

Shadowing is alright, as long as you don't do it while someone is playing doubles. E13.gif

Generally, I am against shadowing. Sometimes, if someone asks, I will let them shadow me, but then I will usually choose 10 footers. That just about always gets them off the pad. If they want to shadow on the floor behind me and I can't hear their steps, then fine, but if they're on the machine, then it annoys me.

Interestingly enough, however, I am pretty cool with people actually playing on the 2P side. I think it's one of those things where my mind is simply prepared for the presence of another person, thus making it ok. However, shadowing is not as ok (to me)

A could let a friend shadow, cause they are my buddies. But usually a stranger could shadow me if they could keep up with the rhythym and pace. Because the sound of their feet making wrong steps could be very distracting.
