Thanks VSamaco.
DDRGame also makes a non-bar pad (version 3.0?) it is called. I wonder why that never gets discussed as opposed to CF and RO. _________________

Polycarbonate arrows is supposely more durable than acrylic arrows that are on the v3.0. You don't want your arrows cracking/breaking so soon. I have the v3.0 or tx-1000 and the acrylic arrows are holding up after 2 months, but I'm convinced that polycarbon will last longer. Also the v3.0 have a larger arrow as opposed to RO/BNS/ebay pads due to the 4 screw architecture. They don't make polycarbon replacements that size yet. Using RO/BNS type replacements will cause excessive movement.
If a pad was "very" good, then you would see it be discussed more. It's not a bad pad but it lacks the better arrows. DDRGame website is so ripping you off on those pads. I got mines off of ebay for $100, brand new. |

I'm getting a Cobalt Flux (when I get enough money of course) And I just moved into a new house. I have the option of ripping out the carpet in my new room. The carpet is thin and is called "Office Carpet". Now, my question is, which would be better for my cobalt flux when I get it? I've heard stories of carpet warping pads, and I just want to know if I should rip out the carpet in my room and put in a hardwood floor, or if I should keep my carpet. Whatever is best for the Cobalt Flux, I will do. |

I'm confident RO will "atleast" last w/o problems for 6months (moderate use), then you might have to some repairs/tweaks. Take care of it, it can probably last a year or two+. RO's a very sturdy pads but CF tops it. While CF won't require as much maintanence as RO but it'll last for many more years.
If you are doing 8-10 fts regularly or real lazy and have the money, I would suggest you go with CF. But if you are a casual player or don't plan to play everyday for many hours, a RO is more appropriate. |

My RO Metal Pad came in on Saturday after only 4 days! My wife and I have been playing the heck out of it (we can finally play vs mode). It is definitely going to take some time to get used to this pad after playing on an ignition for so long. The button spacing is different and the buttons aren't as forgiving when you step on the side of a button (when part of your foot hits the metal), but it shouldn't take long to get adjusted to that.
I have a few questions about the upkeep of the pad:
1) How tightly should I fasten the screws over the buttons, should they be barely snug, or tightly fastened?
2) I have fairly soft carpet, should I be worried about it bending my pad (there is a soft padding on the underneath of the pad)? If so, how do I remedy this?
3) I have mostly been playing with Isotoner slippers because I find myself being worried about scuffing the buttons when I play with my shoes, should I be worried about this?
Overall I am very satisfied with this pad thusfar, it's very responsive and very easy on the eyes. Hopefully it will last for years to come.
And someone mentioned that they had to plug in their pad after turning in their PS2 to get it to work, it sounds like your pad has a defect, because I plug mine in beforehand (like the manual suggests) and it works fine. |

Whoops, sorry about that, I must have hit 'quote' instead of edit.

The (") means ditto, or same as above. Meaning in mine, I haven't passed them yet. I'm waiting for DDREX to come out in US so I can get those down, then I'll put my scores.
ANYONE KNOW HOW LONG IT TAKES FOR COBALT FLUXS TO GET HERE!? Im gettin anxious _________________

1) I'd say tight enough to secure the arrow from moving so much. Having it loose may cause it to rub against something and breakdown.
2) The pad sits on a thick layer of wood so I think it'll be fine on thick carpet. If you're still worried, you can get some plywood to put underneath the pad
3) Metal pads are meant to take the abuse of shoes. You can wipe them off after play (avoid any liquids getting inside). You can barely notice the marks from a standing position (here a pic of my pad playing with shoes for 1month).
May I ask, is there aluminum strips underneath the arrows or a sheet of metal? |

According to RO, they are putting sheets of metal underneath the buttons (instead of aluminum), but I'll take one of the buttons off to see for myself and let you know... |

ah!, i have been going insane....Do you think if i clean the RO's once a month they would last for about the life of a cobalt? (i do plan on playing at least 4 times a week and i'd prolly play about an hour to two hours on 7-10 foot heavies. Also might bring them to some LAN parties.) cause i want the arcade feel...and the cobalt flux durability....Your thoughts? |

Sure beats me. I'd have to know of someone that has an RO that's lasted longer than my CF, but my CF is a year old and still going. So, I can't really say. _________________

I'd say definitely go with the CF.... Just because durability should be your main concern here. And... It's not very hard to transition from CF to Arcade if you play DDR at home with your shoes on. RO is just a little bit better.
Also, to some guy way before, he said that CF was 300 US + 60 US shipping.... I therefore am assuming he's shipping to Canada? Because My Shipping was $40... |
