|
|
I just got stepmania a while ago, not having PS2 or Xbox, and I was wondering whether it's possible to play the versus or couple modes with a keyboard. Hopefully I'll be getting an adapter and dance mats soon, but for now I'm stuck with keyboard. |

That was harsh sync. Go to options --> config key/joy mappings. In there set the keys (for 2 player I use 1player: wasd for up/left/down/right and the arrows for player 2). _________________

Actually what Sync said is pretty revelant...it took me quite a while to realize I had to press BOTH start buttons to play doubles (which is hard as hell to learn, btw) because I assumed it would act like the home version rather than the arcade in that respect. _________________

hehe...I almost forgot something a bit funny (not that I need to sound any more stupid ).
my friend (DMast) and I used to play Stepmania at his house every once in awhile, and we had such a huge problem with bumping into each other's hands and having keys not registering, that I went and set up asdw as a different set of arrows. too bad I set it up as the 2 player side...it didn't take long before we realized that even though I was sitting on the left and he was sitting on the right, I was playing on the two player side and he was on the one. we were too lazy to change it...it wasn't a big deal to look at the opposite screen to play, but it sure was weird to anyone that happened to see the setup. and I imagine it would make doubles pretty interesting to him, hehe.
more proof that I=lame XD |

Well I guess it's a good thing that I wasn't to lazy to make sure it was right when I got my laptop. I also went back and changed it on the PC cause my sister was whining about it. The only problem with the way I have it set up is that I made the shift key the enter button and if I hit it 5 times in a row I get a message about sticky keys. That i am still to lazy to change. It only happens when I finish a song and want to do the same song and acidentally hit the enter button to go into the second options screen and don't change anything. _________________
