Sorry if this is in the wrong section. I wasn't sure if it belonged here or in South.
I'm trying PIU for the first time this Saturday at Knoxville's West Town Mall. I've never played PIU before, only DDR. I can play 9's on DDR, but when I played Stepmania's PUMP, I could only pass 3's and 4's. Any decent tips for playing PIU on the pads? Also, is anyone else planning on being there this saturday? _________________

for the sections that you asked about people goin, that belongs in whatever region you're from, other then that, this is the right place to ask questions about PIU.
The hardest part of PIU is just the arrow placement. You'll play it like DDR. You can't expect to just jump in and do fine. Start small, work your way up _________________

If you want help doing the transition from just a DDR player to a DDR and PIU player, play a couple of games of "SOLO" DDR (6 panel). It will really help you get used to PIU. _________________

Uh no, not usually. I learned DDR from Solo, and learning PIU was a new thing to me. _________________

I played 2 days ago after playing SOLO a couple of times and it helped. I A'd and B'd my first 3 songs (middle one was a B. the noise was screwed up). _________________

Heh, thanks for all that advice, guys, but I headed down there today, and, apparently, their PIU was removed a while back. It's still listed on here, though. Ah well. I still played some DDR. Maybe some other time, I'll find another PIU and rawk sox at it... or suck... whichever... _________________

To hear the Law Of Palmetto Bug guys, there's at least one or two PIU machines in Memphis, and I can tell you there's a PIU Exceed in Jackson, MS, and a couple of machines 'round on the Gulf Coast. Just in case you're in the area. _________________

After about a week or so of playing only Pump with no DDR, you'll move up much quicker in skill. Plus, you'll then be able to switch between the both freely, without too much trouble. |
