Those pads are good and it seems now that they person is selling the actual pictured pad. The dealer is very reliable as long as you provide the correct information and payment.

ive got a judydeals pad and i was wondering if i could buy/make/mod a controller box to work with xbox. the controler box that came with my pad is made by cypher games and its for the ps2. if anyone could help me out it would be much appreciated as i would love to try out ultramix.

Red Octane sells a control box for xbox for $25
Buy N Shop sells a custom ps2-xbox adapter for $16
Walmart, Ebworld, RO sells gemini universal adapter for $10-20

Note, the adapter will make the pad show up as something different but it will still function. People seem to think your cheating due to the different identification.

LOOKING INTO BUYING THIS PAD. It's the new metal one at buynshop with a handle bar. Works with PS2 and Xbox and looks great. Will I need to mod this at all and will it last me for at least a few years or more?

The overview picture at the top is a tx-2000 (4 screws at center). The smaller picture is BNS custom version of it w/ polycarbon arrows since there are corner brackets. The pad would be reliable if it has polycarbon, which most likely it does, its just they need to post more accurate pictures. The bar on the other hand isn't. Like most pads w/ bars it weighs 70pds which is barely enough compared to the arcades 200+pds. The extra thickness doesn't necessarily make it more durable than the ones that are half the thickness. Its like that because they need thicker wood for more weight. Thats alot of extra money for a pad with a bar if you ask me. This pad and other similar ones will last you for atleast 6 months. You may have to address some problem that you could probably fix later down the road. If I were you, I'd dump the bar option and go with either BNS barless metal pad (150) or RO(200) if you want a Xbox plug. Both pads a very good too.

WARNING!!!!!! HANDLE BARS DO NOT WORK ON GAME SYSTEM PADS WHATSOEVER!!!!!! THEY'LL JUST TIP THE ENTIRE PAD BACKWARDS AND CAUSE MAJOR INJURY TO YOU AND YOUR PAD IF YOU LEAN ON IT!!!!! DON'T BUY ANY METAL PAD BECAUSE OF THE "ADDED" BONUS OF AN "AUTHENTIC" ARCADE BAR.

So you're saying that if I bought a metal pad similar to this one it would only last for about 6 months?! erm.gif I mean that's about how long my 50 buck foam soft pad costed (and started malfunctioning around the same time).Would there be any way to ensure that it lasts at least a couple or few years?!!

I'm saying atleast 6 month w/o problems. After that, I'm sure that pad will still work but maybe an arrow will crack or a contact will go dull, in which you'll have to do repairs. It'll also depend on how much you play and how often. It's a rough estimate, but I've seen a good ignition pad go out within a 2 months or even weeks. So based on the life of your soft pad, a metal pad will prob last you atleast year. If you really want a pad that will definitely last you several years/lifetime, go for a cobalt flux ($300).

If god made a pad...the cobaltflux would definitely be it.

Wow...after seeing that cobalt...all I gotta say is wow.

Oh and it's mine in a few months! E7.gif

I just ordered a CF and I was wondering if by playing on carpet if it will warp or bend like my other metal pads. The CF seems like it would be stronger but may still bend. If it can still bend, what is the best thing to do to prevent it from bending?

How thick is the carpet? I have mine on fairly thin carpet (basically just an area rug) and I haven't noticed any warping yet.

Do your other metal pads have feet on the bottom?

CF do not come with or support a trick bar. A trick bar pretty much makes a good pad into a bad pad. It is no where as durable or balance to support as much weight as the arcade. Plus, dealer seem to charge $50 more for a very bad accessory, I would opt out for this feature. Here is another comment about metal pads with a bar:

If you insist in getting a pad with a bar, get one with polycarbonate panels. The arrows of that pad are acrylic which isn't as durable. BuyNShop and the ebay dealer ngult have pads w/ bar and polycarbonate arrows. But don't complain about the pad+bar when you get it cause you've been warned erm.gif

Slothboy....

ive had my cf for roughly 3 months now and i have thick carpet and it hasnt warped at all...plus the cf comes with sticky coarse pads that you can place on the bottom of it so it wont move around much while you play.

If you people are so god damn stubborn on playin on a pad with a bar, get any regular metal pad without a bar and play with a chair flipped around behind you. that way you can play with the head of the chair as a bar. thats one of the best ways, unfortunately, for you to have a personal bar for DDR in your own home. any other suggestions can be offered, but they would basically be the same: get a stabilization bar thats NOT attached to the pad. that way you don't flip over when u lean on it unless the stabilization bar itself is unstable. LOL

Thank you Skottie.

By the way, I was wondering if you could do the mod on this pad http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=21185&item=8117025068&rd=1
and also take out the copper and replace it with metal and re-solder. I would also probably have to replace the foam as well. But I was just wondering if anyone has tried this or if they think this will work.

Which mod? Sheet metal mod, if it has aluminum strips on the bottom of the arrow, yes. Are you sure you want to take out the copper grid? You don't have to replace the foam unless you want it to be more/less sensitivity or worned out. If you have questions about certain mods, you can take a look at home built metal pad topic and look at the info there.

slothboy, I've had my CF for 11 months now, I play a lot on very thick carpet... no bending whatsoever... so you don't have to worry.
