A lot of young kids need to know how many DDR songs were real songs long before DDR.
It should be fobidden in this thread to mention that you heard Long Train Runnin, Kakumei, Sandstorm, Stomp to my Beat, I Like to Move It, Dream a Dream, V, Speed Over Beethoven, The Whistle Song, etc, etc.
OMG ..you *didn't* hear DDR. It's OMG you heard songs that DDR borrowed.
When my friends first heard Dream a Dream they were all "Hey! it's Dr. Robotnik's theme". OMG NO. Just as bad. Learn some respect from the symphonies and pieces that some of these songs originated from. |

I was watching G4 last night and a comercial came up with what appeared to be several Teams of two playing Afronova if im not mistaken on DDR Pads. What made the comercial cool was that you didnt hear the song only the footsteps hitting the pad in sync. did a little freestyle and finished off with a pose. It was like DDR language if you could understand it. Just wondering if anybody else saw it. |

**Que Twilight Zone (TV show, not 2Unlimited song) music**
I was just going to say that. I was just watching Judgment Day (I love that show!) and it came on. I was a little confused, because it's apparently not an ad for any particular company or anything, but I have a feeling there was some subliminal message in the words on their shirts. But when I figured out it was my favorite song's steps, I was too giddy to try and figure it out.
Whoa, did I just say giddy? *Tries to shake it off*
Anyways, it was kind of a wierd comercial, because there is no cabinet, just the pads, but the dancers are all staring forward veeeeery intently, like the machine is there. Kinda confused me. But it was really cool to hear the tapping for such a cool song perfectly in sync. At least, I thought so.
Does ANYONE know what the commercial's purpose was? Because if you do, please post. _________________

I'm always second (Guess third now ) to report these kind of things
But anyway, yeah, that commerical was tight. The pads looked like authentic arcade pads. (How'd they get the shot without the cabinet....?) |

I was watching Mariners Weekly on FSN and they had a segment where two guys went to gameworks and played games and one of them was DDR. They played that Ricky Martin song. _________________

i think that the g4 commercial only had the pads so they did not have to pay royalties to konami same reason why there isnt an actual song |

I saw DDR on the spanish news "primer IMpacto" they were talking about how some ATlanta teens had used it as a form of exercise to lose weight. It was only like thirty seconds but it was exciting to see it on teh spanish channel. |

*I Don't Know If This Has Been Posted But If It Has I Will Get This Deleted*
I was in Best Buy and found this free "Top games of 2004" and so i got it and as i was reading i found a page about "Eyetoy" and they had little tid-bits from games for it and DDR Extreme was the longest out of all of them..... "In Konami's Dance Dance Revolution games, you only had to use your feet...until now. With Dance Dance Revolution EXTREME(Konami), the workout expands as you must also use your hands. Among the mini-games that require 4 limbs to play, Hands and Feet makes players follow visual cues to complete a song, and Clean the Screen requires you to wipe dirt off the screen in order to see the dance directions. Another mode, Watch Me Dance puts you in the actual digitized backgrounds of the game. Dance Dance Revolution EXTREME is due to be released this September."
and they had this picture
Also on the last page (page 49) there is a full page advert for DDRMAX2....very good i must say..i wish i had a scanner for everyone but these magazines are free so go out and check it out! They have TONS and should be at every Best Buy store. The cover has a Guy from the Ravens football team on the front too... _________________

I posted this in it's own topic until I realized that your not supposed to! (Read DDR on CNN topic!) anyways...
I don't know if this has been posted already... but:
Just 10 minutes ago, i was watching my local news: CFRN CTV, Edmonton, AB, Canada!
And a news reporter and a doctor were talking about children and adults lossing weight by playing Dance Dance Revolution! They were also talking about how DDR has changed the Video Game world from sitting and playing gaining weight, you step-up and loose weight!
It was only a quick 1 min. thing, but I've never seen it on my local news ever! To me... that was sweet!
Here's the video link: here (this is a web exclusive video! different than the news story that was on my local news! this one is 2.5 mins! But still good! No doctor talk, and no "how ddr changed video game history" talk either!) _________________

Yes i, suck at ddr, but it's the greatest game i've ever played... ever... ! |

Today I saw DDR on tv. It was on CNN news. It was talking about like exercising video games or something. And yesterday I was really surprised to hear Twilight Zone on 93.1 DRQ! |
