Actually thats not a bad idea. It would be nice to make special shoes for DDR players. If they can make Skate shoes and Running shoes, etc...then they should make DDR shoes as well. I'd give 'em a try. |

Yeah I would try them also. My feet are always killing me when I use my regular sneakers so it would be cool if there was specially designed shoes for ddr. _________________

I think dancing shoes for like DDR, PIU, ect would sell out really quickly if you ask me. I only have one pair of tennis shoes that I wear to the arcade and they kill my feet, so if someone was smart enough to make a dancing shoe that gave you a lot of grip(I can't stand sliding >.<) and comfy as you know what, then I would totally buy them! _________________

...you...you...never played it...? *gasp* /slap
ANYWAY i would love a pair of ddr shoes. i think they should be alot like skate shoes with really soft and completely flat bottoms with uber-suppotrive inner soles. sure, they could make a few different models with differnt grip ratings. but seriously now, do you really think that anybody would buy them? sure all you guys and i also say "Id buy thoes absodoodle!" but would all the other ddr players? its a good idea but might not be that scucessful. if they made them look really cool then they could be like skate shoes. people who dont skate buy them because they look good and are really comfy. _________________

I would buy the shoes of course granted they were in a reasonable price range. I can're much afford expensive shoes that won't give me my fill of playtime. As long as they upkeep longer than my regular tennis, I would completely buy them.
And you can skate with regular tennis but they don't hold as well as skate shoes. You need a good grip on a skate board if you're going to pull off any good tricks and what not. _________________

Hopefully, if these dance shoes come out, they won't charge a ridiculous $75 for them. I am just sticking to regular Pay-less shoes. |

I just play in my everyday boots. They work fine, have plenty of grip, and are ubercomfortable. And they only cost $13!
Some actual DDR shoes would be cool, though. They should make DDR boots, too - some people think boots are actually better for DDR than tennis shoes, 'cause they're solid and stay on your feet (yes, I have seen people's shoes fall off during DDR, and lemme tell you, it's awful for your score. ). _________________

(to usagi) i think that you should have read the "whats on your feet" thread because i read all the pages and b00ts were mentioned a couple of times. and ddr shoes would be a g00d idea but i wouldn't but them because we would l00k like ddr drones or something, but it would be c00 to be in everyday places and seeing people wearing them, then you'd know they played |

Well, I think that one thing no one really seems to touch upon when their reciting their dream shoes is weight. I know a lot of people say they play in bare feet so that they can move quicker, but all any sort of DDR shoes would need is a little cushion, grip, and LESS WEIGHT! I'm sick of all the cheaper shoes feeling like anchors, and I'm sure those giant skate shoes aren't much better. _________________

I have to disagree a bit. The last time I played in lighter weight shoes, I had a hard time getting the arrows to register, so I would think heavier weight shoes would help. At least they work better for me. _________________

Sure we are.
I like my boots for playing because they're solid and they register arrows well, plus I don't feel like I can fall off/out of them. They also hold my ankles straight, which helps me keep my balance. They weigh maybe, like, five pounds? They're heavy, for shoes, but not too heavy - I have a friend who plays in steeltoes. Now *those* are heavy. _________________
