I doubt they are actually playing a song, but, at the conclusion of the commercial, the last pair make a step pattern that sounds very similar to Afronova's dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun at the very end.

I think they're playing the second half of Afronova on Standard.

heavy. You can easaly tell, because Afronova doesnt have jumps on the end of standard, and its faster then standard.

Hi. I'm Karlski from the G4/Techtv commercial. The others on the forum who did it were masnevets, spf5.tyty, addricted, Fox, and JPMoney's smaller brother Justin.

To clear some things up, the steps we were doing was as you guys already guessed... Afronova Heavy. We did it by having a monitor about 10 feet off the floor ahead of us, which is why we appear to be staring up a lot. The monitor was linked to the video-out of a ddr machine that was off camera. Basically we heard the song start, then the volume on the machine was muted and we used the arrows for visual cues. Basic FS elements were added just to add some variety.

The producer of the commercial wanted to make something similar to the way Nike did their basketball commercials by only using the sound of a dribbling ball and combine it with some 1970's oldschool harlem theme. It was filmed back in October and began airing on G4 during the Spring.

Oh right, I just watched it again. Yeah, it is on Heavy. Sorry about that. I was guessing it was on Standard because it didn't have any jumps at the end.

Yeah. The end was also changed around to create a pose for the ending shot. The beats of the steps are the same, but we basically just mirrored the ending of the standard steps and added a jump to close.

We played the song 843759457984 times so they waited to get the sound from the heavy steps (jumping is louder of course E1.gif) but used Karl and Tyler's FS for the finish.

Yeah, I saw the ad on G4 TechTV and thought is was pretty cool. I at first thought that they were just playing whatever steps that came to mind, but that were copying eachother so well, so I started questioning what the Hell let them now what steps to use, unless it was a paper or the telepropter, which wouldn't work worth crap.

I'm just suprised that the guys that did that ad would post on the same thread as I.

I would love a link to that video. I laughed when the ad started, but as it proceed I realized just how nuts the song was getting. The editing was great too as it switched from team to team. I was digging it by the end.

Rock on guys

I hope this doesn't count as bumping, it's still on the first page *looks up at Spike*

The video is on www.ddrvideos.com . You'll have to register I think, but it's nothing.

I loved that commerical, I had no idea the ppl were on ddrfreak! lol
