Okay, every now and again, when I get an A on a song, the announcer on MAX2 (arcade) or DWI says something that I absolutely cannot make heads or tails of - I don't even think it's English, or if it is, it's extremely weird English.

This isn't just a sim thing, either, because like I said, I've heard it in the arcade, too. Have any of you heard this, and if so, what is he saying? It's been bothering me for ages!

(If you're not sure what I'm talking about, and you have DWI, you can go listen to the MP3 of the announcer - it'll be under Sounds > Default > Eval > A > A-05.mp3)

It would be a lot easier to help if you could at least tell us what it sounds like.

Uh, well, see, I have absolutely no idea what it sounds like, which is why I posted the DWI file that corresponds with the sound in question. It doesn't sound like English at all; it sounds more like Japanese, to me. It only plays when you get an A. That's as best as I can describe it.

If I had more bandwidth, I'd just upload the file to my webspace, but I fear I'd max it out. If anybody just has to hear the file, they can AIM me - I'm online right now and I'd be happy to send the MP3 to you. It's only something like 22K.

(EDIT: Okay, my friend tells me it's in Japanese, which explains why I don't understand it. But what does it mean, does anybody know?)

The only one I know of that's not in English from DDRMAX2 is ashita ga arusa, which means "there's always tomorrow."

However, you only get that when you fail. Perhaps your sound files are messed up.

Heh, so THAT'S what ashita ga arusa means. I've known exactly what was being said for ages, but didn't know what it meant.... and BTW, I'm pretty sure I've also heard it without failing at the arcade. *shrug* Maybe we're just both crazy though.

Could you upload it, or is that not allowed here?

That seems to be what it is. Thanks. happy.gif

(It's weird, I've only ever heard/remembered it after getting A's. I dunno.)
