i was also confused all day but here goes
you get 2 discs
one cdbooter and one dvd booter
extreme is dvd and i got it booted(a small hurdle to figure out the memory card part sinse it was in japanese)
party is cd format and i had trouble with that. I read alot of forums as well as got help from people here and found out my problem. It seems the new'r ps2 systems dont like that CD boot up disk much. I also found the loop hole to fix it by loading up a US version game and then turning off my system and then rebooting it with the cdbooter. I dont know the reason why this works but it does and has now 10/10 tries. it was said by loading up that game it resets the coding...yada yada
hope this clears up the confusion.
i am pretty glad i have the flip top now and played till my legs gave out today lol |

oh  so it really boot import... ok im geting flip top but one question : Does it fail to load sometimes?
i already have everything. the swap disc and um.... ddr ex and ddr max2 7thmix and um.... slidecard dont count bc it sux and i bought it now i have a hole in the ps2 bc my uncle broke the front cover of it. anyway, the onlything i can do now is use a fliptop cover bc the tray wont open bc if i open it, the tray going to fall off bc screw broke where the lil cover came off. ok peace.....

can you tell me step-by-step on how to load a CD game using SM 2.0? I can onlr play DVD games on my ps2.

I just learned why the chip is cheaper even tho it has the same functionality as other modchips. Its simply a cheap modchip and often fries PS2s.

scratch what i wrote...............i cant duplicate how it got the game to load.
tried for a hour and no go. i have a 50001 version ps2 and that loader just doesnt work.
i emailed swap magic(like that will do anything)
im gonna look for a diffrent loader disc. sorry to get your hopes up....mine were up too but now i cant get it to work again. |

i just spent another hour attempting to recreate the fluke that let me use the swap magic disk(CD loader) with my ps2.
i retraced my steps of sort and remember when i was messing with it before i had slipped up and accidently hit the cd eject button. It scared me because since with a flip top it has no where to go and i had hit reset and the button again to get it back but didnt think it had anything to help with the cd loader.
ok so out of 20 trys i got 18 to work.....the cd took over a minute to load sometimes but it worked. I even made sure the lens and disc were cleaned properly before testing.
what i did
*****this might ruin your ps2 cd eject mechanism in the long run be advised**********
1) first lets start by saying i was playing a US game before i tried this....dunno if it matterd but im tired and dont wanna test anymore.
2) put the swap magic cd loader in and turned on blah blah....went to browser select and when choosing it i got the disk read error.
3) i hit the eject cd button and it comes out half a inch hits the flip top and stops.
4) I hit reset and get a black screen because cd not in
5 i hit cd button and it goes in and restarts ps2
6) black screen for like 1 min or so with alot of whiring sounds and i get the playstation logo. and another min or so to load up the swap magic screen.
now out of the 20 trys sometimes i got it to give a playstation logo right away and sometimes it went to browser then to mem card screen and took its time reading cd there.
now this is no way fool proof and probally is more harm to a ps2 then a slide card(dunno) but it worked for me and im using a 50001 seris ps2(the one that has most of the trouble with the cd loader for swap magic)
i have also emailed the company i got the disc from and demanded a new one anyway(who knows i might have a faulty disc)
im sorry its such a ghetto way to make it work but if it lets me play my ddr who cares.
so basically cd in ,turn on,get error,hit cd eject,hit reset,hit cd eject to let cd back in. |

what swap disc version u got bc sometimes v2 dont work with them.

i have the swap magic 3.0(US build 3.2) cd loader disc
the dvd loader think its 2.0 works great
btw whats a good web site to buy a breaker pro disc set from? |

i thnk there is something wrong with ur ps2. try booting up an usa game and tell me how long it takes to load.
bc i have the same problem when i booted an usa game and it takes me to the logo and then bak to the browse...
Gamestop told me that theres something inside that messing up the lens or somesh*ts... anyway i got a new ps2 39001....
i use to have 5000x series but i gaved it to my lil cousin to play.

usa games load fast and dont go to browser as well as the dvd swap magic disk.
i have read people having problems with the cd loader on more then just the 5000x
besides this disk my ps2 is in pretty good shape. |

no clue but im geting that mix soon when ever maybe heheh... and um breaker pro. im going to find out if um... it works with 500x series... my cousin has that model too.
WAIT! this is dumb question but, is the 500x series the one that comes with the ps2 network adapter ?
needing to kno bc my cousin has that came with it and im geting another ps2. one for playing usa and the old one for import. so i dont have to share with friends that i want to play usa games on MY PS2~

FLip top.... with swap disc....
Psh dont get slidecard... bc u might break the tray cover like my uncle did.
besides ur going to get tired of using the slidecard and besides, its bad for the ps2....
