Discount Auctions... Are they any good??? This pad says Polycarb arrows, and it says frame is fully constructed of metal. Is there any good reviews of these pads.

The pictured pad may be polycarbon but when I bought one last March, it was a tx-1000, which has acrylic arrows. I'm happy with it though. The 4 screw setup is pretty convenient and the pad are very responsive, even after modding. May I suggest metal pads from judysdeals and ngult, which are polycarbon.

Any other good pads out there? *Aside from Cobalt Flux* That are 100??

*Currently it doesn't seem Judysdeals has any $99 dance pads for sale, oh puh!

you would need to mod it... The arrows are probably acrylic, and i'm sure the contacts are still foil-copper. Also, Ebay has these tx-2000 for around 130-140 bucks. Go that way.

after reading this ENTIRE thread, that's right. i read every post in this 71 page thread to determine what metal pad i should buy nerd.gif . my decision wavered to and fro as i read through the history of metal ddr pads... at first it was red octane, then the cobalt flux, and my final decision i think is the buy n shop. the reason being that it is affordable, it seems to have the exact same internal structure as the red octane, and plus they returned my email. i asked what kind of contact system they used(before i read the thread of course), they said foil on copper. red octane has yet to reply... so much for customer service. the cobalt flux is too expensive. i'll take everyone's word that it's the best one out there. good for it. i dont wanna spend that much so bns it is! I believe all the latest metal pads other than cobalt flux have the copper contact. RO, BNS, MyMyBox, Cyphergames, Tx-1000, and other ebay pads. My only complaint about BNS is that they sent Cyphergame control box, different size pad then specified, and different color arrows (that may not be polycarbon, but prob are). Cyphergames pads are not that great in the field of craftsmanship and that BNS pad seems like a CG pad. The actual pictured BNS pad is as good as RO and even ebay pads with polycarbon arrows can compare with it too. When you do get your BNS pad, check back here and see if the pad matches the website specification.

You put it over the aluminum foil on the bottom of the arrow. Here is the link to sheet metal mod here.

The TX-2000 has acrylic arrows, so plexiglass is probably the same thing.

If you want a cheap cobalt, your best bet is eBay. The only price the official makers of the Cobalt Flux sell the pad for is $300.

There is Red Octane metal pad ($200) that has a control box for ps2/xbox that if you can do without a bar. The tx-2000 has acrylic arrows as opposed to polycarbon arrows on a RO.

yeah i'm not too worried about the control box to tell you the truth... i'm willing to take my chances. i'm hoping that guy that got a totally different pad was just a fluke. it says on their website that it's a v2.53 now... so idunno what that could mean. it could have a different layout now(like the solo arrows). yeah but it definately is afoil on copper contact system. they said it themselves. i'm planning on modding it when i DO order it. i'm just going to try and take care of it the best i can and hope it takes care of me. do my eyes deceive me? if i didnt know any better, i'd say that's a brand new cobalt flux pad selling on ebay for 265 bucks. so it's like 300 with shipping(when i looked at it at least). someone tell me if i'm wrong.

I saw RO and i can do with out the bar (heck i never used them before) i just like the base. I can mod the pad for free since my pad has metal i can use for the MYMYBOX mod and the i can change the acrylic.

But can the acylic break even tho i only weigh 108. Im really the only one the plays in my house and i do play a lot and on heavy. My sis also plays but she is lighter than me and she plays very little and on light.

Acrylic arrows are bad, i'm not sure if they'll break with you bieng so light. But better safe, then sorry.

As for the cobalt flux, the owner of the CF site always has one listed. when this one ends, another will probably begin. Yeah, thats the first time i've seen them go for some 40 bucks under.
