Can you play IIDX on a PS2 controller or do you need to buy one

You can play IIDX or Pop'n or whatever with a Dual Shock... but that's like saying you can type with your nose. While drunk.

Even if you did get good at it, if you ever bought a proper controller or went to an arcade, you'd be pretty much back at square one.

I know someone who has IIDX for PS2, but can't afford a IIDX controller yet, so he's gotten pretty good with a dualshock =/ better than I am on a keyboard..

Your best bet is to learn how to play on IIDX controller from the beginning. Playing on a dualshock won't teach you much (if anything) about scratching and finger placement.

I know IIDX controllers are scarce at the moment, but if you get a chance to snag one, go for it
