For some reason, the left and down arrows wont work when i hold the up arrow, every button works on its own, but when the up arrow is pressed, its like it turns off the left and down arrows, (the right arrow works while pressing the up arrow) anyone know what could cause this? |

I'm assuming this is a converter used so you can use your pads on the computer and probably when you are using a SIM... in other words this question belongs in the simulator forum not the console games forum, in this thread to be exact _________________

i don't think so, one of my soft pads, the down stopped working, and it would work so long as the left or right button was pressed also. thats on my ps2, i think thats what he is talking about. I would say its probably an electrical issue then. Try checking the connections to the arrows... Did it come like that? also, is there a warranty so you can have it replaced? _________________

Playing on a PS2 or computer?
PS2/Comp: Check the wiring and contacts. Your control box may be defective if everything checks fine.
Comp w/ adapter: What kind of adapter? Some adapters require it to be activated into dance mode so the arrows map to buttons rather than axis. You can check this in control panel -> gaming controllers -> select adapter + properties and see whats being activated. |

the wiring is fine as far as i can tell, they are all connected to the pads, but they go down under the wood and i dont know how to get down there to check further. This is on my PS2 and i have two of them and two boxes to convert to a ps2 cable (with start and select buttons on it) and i've used both so they arent the problem.
Just for more info on the problem.... When i stand on teh down arrow, it works fine, but if i step on the up arrow it stops working, and as soon as i let my foot off the up arrow, the down arrow registers again. (same with the left arrow and up arrow)
There is no warrenty as far as i know, so i dont know what to do, thinking about taking it to a tv repair shop or something that knows more about electricity than i do |

(same with the left arrow and up arrow) | That's a controller axis problem. The dance mat's signals are being registered as d-pad presses instead of button presses. Since you can't hit up and down at the same time on a controller, the same applies for a dance pad. _________________

the pad worked fine for a month or so though, and any combination of buttons works except (down and up) or (left and up) i can simultaneously press any other combo's its just that the up arrow cancels out the down and left (but not the right) |
