My friend brought his cobalt flux into school one day. We had a free 1.5 hour period to play. Anyway, it was awsome. We had a huge crowd, since barely anyone else plays (there are a few others). Incidentally, that was the only time I've FC'd after the freeze in legend of max without a bar. Unfortunately, I screwed up right before it, so still no AA for me. Still, a good show for the audience. It also gave some other people a chance to try it, and I think we got a few more hooked. Top notch experience for me. Hopefully I'll do it again.

some people have modded ps2's which allows them to play DDR Extreme from Japan or any other game that cannot be played on an umodded system.

I use a flip top. Works great for me. Easier to install, and cheaper than a modchip.

I think bring DDR to school would be great. I just don't know how I would be able to bring my Cobalt Flux in and have the heart to let people play on it. A fellow classmate got a CF also and if he bring in his, that would be a blast.

just bring in a piece of plywood with a soft pad stapled in the corners to the plywood in. It may not be the best of pads but it will be better than have newbs stomp the crap out of your CF

At our school (Wayzata West Middle School) there is a place in called "The Hang Out Room" where you can go after school. There you can talk, eat, slee, and PLAY DDR! Anyway, there is a small TV on a book case with a PS2 connected to it. The pads used are 2 cheep MAD CATZ plastic ones. It sucks real bad becacuse you have to jump on cement floor (killing your legs). I've gone there once and hated it ever since. This year i finished 8th grade and am now moving to the high school [YAY]. Now I am hopping that there will be something better there.
