Best XBOX DDR pad? ($200-300 range limit)

I am looking into getting a (almost definately metal) pad for my xbox. What is everyone's opinion on the best one? I am looking for one preferrably $300 or less. I am no good with tools, so the make it yourself metal pad is not much of an option. I want it to be accurate, durable, and similar to the arcade pad (some mats you have to move much differently than on the arcade pad so they does not help much.)

The big suggestion for an awesome pad seems to be the Cobalt Flux pad, but that is for PS/PS2 only and I have heard that the adapters from PS-->xbox cause lag, which would be quite irritating.

If you really want a great pad, definately go for the flux. I have a cobalt flux and I only have an Xbox. The gemini adapter works great with it and has no lag at all.

That's the one I and many other Xbox fluxers use. I got mine at a walmart for 15 dollars. Cobalt Flux pads are the same size as arcade pads but they do feel different. Although I doubt you'll find a pad that feels just like an arcade pad, except maybe that beat gear one. Cobalt Fluxes are very durable and do not take that much skill to maintain. The only supplies I've used on my CF is a phillips head screw driver, some windex like substance (don't use windex) and paper towels. They are also very sensitive and easy to fix if something goes wrong. Not to mention the 6 month warranty.

Now the CF itself costs 300 but shipping will cost you another 40-50 unless you live in Utah. Then you need to buy the adapter (15-20) and the game (40 new) and that should be it. It will be worth it though. It's up to you, but if you want the best, get a flux.

So $350 + $20 = $370 I'm looking at...I can do that. I don't need to shell out for the game because I have it already.

I can attest that the Flux works great with the Gemini adapter. However, the corner buttons (A,B,X,Y on Xbox) will be active during song play, which could cause accidental Almosts and Goods when doing anything above 7 footers. Some people fix this by sliding paper between the contacts of the corner buttons to effectively disable them.

i use the converter on RO for my BnS. good to know it works with the flux, i'm getting on for graduation

Thanks for all the advice..I'm glad I posted this. I am seriously looking into it right now, and unless I find something shocking I will be buying one tommorow.

a cobalt flux is really only one level (aka flat) wich is unlike the arcade. I personally use the ddrhomepad and i had a friend help me with it because i suck with tools.

the newer controls are near imposible to wire because they have the analog sticks the only way you can make one for xbox is to use an old psx paddle (w/ no analong sticks) and then go via adaptor.

And the soldering part really only takes the diagram they give, a iron, solder and some common sence.
