I just had a thought.
We DDRFreaks do a lot of complaining about the US releases of DDR. I mean, take as an example the US release of DDRMax2, and consider that there has already been a lot of speculation regarding how craptacular Extreme US will be.
So, my thought is this: Why does Konami insist upon naming the US releases with titles that are the same as the Japanese releases, even though they change the entire game (DDRMax2 US used a different interface style than did the Japanese release, had a slew of different songs, and had other differences, as well). I submit that if Konami would use different names for their US releases, those releases would be much more well recieved by us DDRFreaks. Consider Ultramix. We knew from the start that it was a totally different game, and it has been much more well recieved by us than has been Max2 US.
The bottom line: Konami is doing well to try to cater to the US crowd. However, they really should give us DDRFreaks more of what we want. And, if they are going to release a game here that is not the same as the Japanese release, they shouldn't name it with the same name!
Thank you. Have a nice day. _________________

Fare thee well, Riviera, and God speed. |

Eh, yeah, maybe they should call Extreme "Konamix-2". It might take down some criticism. |

on the other hand, why don't they release a game in the US that is as close to the japanese version as possible? i think that is what a lot of people would want.
my personal opinion on ultramix is that it is pretty bad. it seems to me like microsoft took ahold of DDR and tried to make it less 'japanese'. everything from the color schemes, character designs, and the songlist. it just didn't have the same flair for me than did konamix and the maxes. _________________

"Lot of people" being DDR Freak? Being all the DDR websites combined?
The number of people that post on DDR Websites is not the largest number of people who buy DDR. It's a relatively small percentage. So when someone looks around these websites and says "Wow, everyone wishes it was closer to the Japanese games" that doesn't mean that EVERYONE wants it like that. _________________
