I don't smoke, but I have two friends that smoke. They can both beat me pretty bad on most songs, and afterwards they go outside for a smoke to really rub it in goog.gif

Makes me wonder though, would they be even better if they didn't smoke.

LOL.

Anyways, you can't really tell by the person's performance. It's about how much better or more effective he/she would be at playing DDR, since, you know, some are more prodigic than others.

Yeah, these guys make us feel like complete faliures at DDR. But they still are encouraging when we completely screw up on the harder songs. ('disturb.gif')

I'm a smoker... yeah, it probably effects me a fair bit on 10 footers - when I'm in the right mood, I A most of 'em (Or in the case of Paranoia Survivor, AA). If not, I'll fail because I'll just stop. But most 9s and down I can AA without issue... so it's only in the extreme situations that it really hinders me.

Smoking is bad, but why people still do it just proves how stupid the human race is...

I find it completely amazing that people smoke and play DDR (or do both at the same time. goog.gif gross goog.gif ). Here's something to think about to all the smokers out there; If you gave up smoking, think about how much extra money you'd have to play DDR E13.gif And you'd do better too. It's a win/win situation ^^

Yep, that really sucks that people keep doing it. I don't think we can really stop them all by this one post. I think it is pointless and next time you smokers light a cigarette it is death staring you back in the eyes goog.gif . I blame the media for advertising erm.gif .

A a friend of mine, who plays regularly here, smokes. He's passed everything except PSMO, and even now he's working on that. He's gotten A's on everything except PSM and LOM, I believe. AA'd almost every 9.

He doesn't ever really seem that tired after anything, either. All he needs is some water, and he's fine. He goes outside to smoke a lot during between sets, though. E10.gif

You people sicken me. You act like you know everything about everything. Like smoking is something you can drop at any second. Like people want to stop smoking. You people don't know sh!t. Chances are you've never had a cigarette in your life. And if you have, you'll probably use that to argue this point. The real point is this: F*ck off and stop critizing other people's habits.

1) Give me some positive side to smoking? It's an addiction, unhealthy, makes you stink, is expensive, may lead to other drugs, and causes cancer (among other diseases).

2) Smoking while doing any physical activity has been documented by doctors and I have yet to hear anyone say that mixing the two at the same time is a good idea.

3) I have personally known a lot of smokers in my life and have worked at places that sold tobacco. Needless to say, I know the smoking demograph very well. I could give you countless examples, but I don't wish to start a smoking vs. anti-smoking thread here. But needless to say, your response to our posts is typical and expected.

4) I have only one rule about smoking; the second it affects my health and well-being, you lost the right to smoke. Is it fair to non-smokers to be forced to breath in second hand smoke (which is known to be more harmful to a non-smoker than first hand smoke to a smoker)?

Realize my comments were not directed at anyone specific; however, if you can find logical facts that can prove me wrong on anything I've said, you have an arguement. There is no logical reason to smoke. Smoking is hard to quit, since it is an addiction, but there are doctors and anti-smoking solutions out there for you; it's not impossible to quit. You just need to make the choice to quit and follow through with that desicion. Lastly, if you want to keep smoking, go ahead, but ask yourself why you still do it and be honest with yourself. Smoking is a very emotional topic, because there is no logic in being a smoker; leaving the only defense of a smoker to lash back with hateful comments and emotional outbreaks.

I know a couple of people who smoke and play(ed) DDR.

One, I'm almost certain, stopped playing DDR because as he was progressing in skill, he couldn't keep his breath as the smoking had worked horrors on his lungs.

The other plays yet and is in horrible shape. I'm certain that he will soon stop playing because playing anything over 8 feet completely tires him out.

Just listen to Aoi-Chan. He's right. Don't smoke. Where's the point? Don't bother defending smoking. Actually, if you can give me valid evidence as to why one should start smoking, I will listen.

All right...

Aoi Chan makes a lot of sense..

And rhythmn angel is going to burn in hell because he feels overexcessive compassion for smokers.

BRILLIANT!

So some players smoke. Let them do what they want, and if they don't quit, they'll face the consequences sooner or later. Just don't smoke near the machine while other people are playing to play. Playing is tough enough without decreasing the amount of breatheable air.

*Sees above posts* Hmm, I could've sworn Aoi-chan and rhythm_angel were girls. Huh...

Woah easy bro. He wasnt bashing anyone. He was saying that he believes smoking is bad, and doesnt mix well with DDR. He was also commenting on the way Maesce assumed eveyrone was hating on smokers, which they werent.

As far as smoking and ddr goes? Well ive seen people smoke then play DDR. Doesnt seem to affect them at all. Although they seem to cough alot after their set of songs (sepcailly after catas-10footers) I personally dont do well with smoke and DDR. When i played at this casino arcade in Vegas, there were alot of smokers in there, and it screwed me up alot, it dried up my throat like crazy. i left the place right away. I think smoking seems to affect those who DONT smoke more than those who DO when playing DDR. At least thats my experience.
