I'm Trying to upload Xstep and I get this error on my program "Run Time error '62' Input past end of the file." What does that mean and what should I do?
Usually this is an IO error caused by an attempt to write to a file after it has been closed. When uploading this may be caused by a quota of disk space being exceeded. When a program causes this type of error locally (on your computer) it should be noted and reported to the creator of the program so that they can attempt to resolve the coding error that caused it. Most Run Time errors are caused by an internal failure of the software you are running due to a coding error which violates logic, memory, or disk usage and the only way to get them repaired is typically for the creator of the application to revise their source code.
Thanks for the help, I'll get right on it. |

"Wow Mike, you have to be the best black DDR player in the state of Florida!"
"What the hell? I didn't know black people played this game!"
It's funny since I'm the only black kid around this area who plays the game, it's great how some of the spectators call me the "White Boy Beater" LMAO |

It's time...to do the...EXTRA STAGE!

That is a pretty good tutorial, to start with, at least. The only thing that you need to keep in mind is finding the gap, which was not emphasized in that article above. |

Ok, I have a specific problem with song length.
I have completed making steps for the entire song.
When playing it in the stepmania step editor it will stop pretty much straight after the final step.
However when I play it in normal play, after the song finishes and the steps finish it doesn't stop. It keeps going for 20-30 seconds, I know the mp3 doesn't have 20-30 seconds of nothing at the end. What do I need to do to fix this? _________________

I don't know if it has been mentioned yet, but there's always Dancing Monkeys, which seems to do a pretty good job. |

I knew someone who had the same problem. It seems like SM/DWI recognizes this song, regardless of its steps or length, even if those two are edited. Try renaming the name of the folder, or putting it in another folder and reload SM. It should fix the problem. |

Well, I don't quite understand why this works. What do you mean, "recognizes this song, regardless of its steps or length"?
Anyway it seems to have worked, so thank you. _________________

I don't know how to explain it, so I will use an example. Think of DWI/SM as Internet Explorer, and the songs you play are websites. When you access a website, it saves a "cookie", indicating that you went there, and it shows up in your History, etc. What seems to happen is once DWI/SM writes a cookie, it's not deleted, even if you remove the song. And when you toss it back in, even with it edited, if it has the same name as the previous one, it uses the SAME cookie. Let's say, originally, the song is 2 minutes long. SM writes recognizes it as 2 minutes long. When you edit it, toss it back into the same folder under the exact same name, SM recognizes it as a 2 minute song, even if your song is 1 minute and a half.

Gotcha, it uses the cache.
Now why couldn't I figure that out myself...? Where are my memory pills? Why is it that I can never remember where I put my memory pills? What's going on here, who am I talking to anyway? _________________

LOL, figured my problem out. Didn't have the folder the same name as everything else. Now syncing it is hard...I think it has a BPM change... _________________

Okay. I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but I have a eally big problem. I cant get the Gap or BPM of any song correctly. Is theer something I can use, because x-step doesnt work at all. Do any of you know a program that finds the bpm and gap for you? Or something that can sync the steps for you. Again, if I resaid what someone else says, I'm sorry, tis just bothering me. _________________

Am I the only one who makes stepfiles with Stepmania???
What's the point of coding when you can make the steps while listening to the song... _________________
