Number pad vs. Arrow Keys

Alright, I've always played stepmania using 2, 4, 6, and 8 on the number pad using my two index fingers, and I have AAA'd every official DDR song. But, after watching some of these videos it seems that a lot of people play with the four arrow keys. So how do the majority of people play?

I gave up on using my keyboard many months ago. I just use my PS -> USB adaptors and hook up either a PS controller or pads ^^

But I used to use the arrow keys and hated trying to do jumps or freezes that required hitting other arrows with them.

I Use The Normal KeyPad And 2 Hands....I Do Cross Overs With my Hands and stuff just like you do on your feet

and i can AAA and AA like most songs

and on the really hard ones like a B. wtf zx 23 im scared

thats like freaky weird.....thats not even how anything involved with ddr would be .....you sick people

In the "spirit" of zx23, I have come with the perfect configuration for my keyboard and playing style... asl;. Until now, I've just used the arrows, but this configuration seems to be perfect, and I think I'll be beating my d-pad scores rather soon.

i prefer the arrow keys because i have a ton of room around them and i wont end up hitting the wrong keys. my fingers are pretty long, so i can easily hit the wrong keys without knowing it. also i almost play ddr on fingers like on feet, except ive got 4 legs, 2 on each hand.
