You know why we are courteous? Because you were lucky to have the reall DDR players. Not people who act on their own. There are more courteous DDR players than the rowdy rude ones. You want to know another reason? To represent. Lets say that you met one of those crazy DDR players... you would consider all DDR players to be evil. Good thing you met one who follows the rules of being a DDR freak member (http://www.ddrfreak.com/faq-rights.php).

We are the DDR freaks. Not evil... just mad Blackanese, Azn, Cockazn and Indian stepping skillz!

I've met nice and I've met nasty players. I think a lot depends on the community around you. Here in Colorado Springs we are all buddies and hang out on occassion and pretty friendly with eachother, while some of the people up north are snobby rude people that don't show any form of good sportsmanship.

My experience from encountering fellow DDR players has mostly been good ones. The only bad occasion is when my quarter used for queuing disappeared. Oh well.

Rychan hit it right on the nose. It's like any other group...the oregon group is really nice and friendly and we all chill whenever we're together..but some groups aren't so nice either....for the most part, i'd say didders are nice people though

Every game genre has their group of elitist people. DDR is no different. Well maybe not ParaPara... who'd want to be known for being really good at a girlypanzy game (other than girls, of course).

Please, please, no.

In my old DDR community everyone for the most part got along. Sure, there were a few groups who got along better, and there were a few who got along worse. It's basically like any other gaming society. I've heard that the Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 people are pretty nice, too, but they took out the M v. C 2 machine at my old arcade... disgust.gif

Okay, first of all, Kabana, awesome sig man. Just awesome.

Second, I've never met anyone BUT nice DDRers. This one dude let me join his game even though he was gonna play Double. Then this other dude at the movies freakin' was awesome, but humble about it. It's all on how you treat each other. I mean, It'd be awesome to have people say, "Wow look how nice those DDR players are. They surely are special." Wouldn't it?

Well, I can classify DDR'ers into five categories:

Nice: The ones who show you the ropes, usually insane at DDR
Snob: The people who think they are better than everyone else and spend all thier time playing hard songs, failing them, and swearing.
hArDcOrE: You know, the people who show up with water bottles and towels and clean the pads...
Elites: The people who are always silent, who put their tokens on the right side of the machine and never pass 9 footers.
n00bs: These people either think that they rule the world in DDR, or they except their level of ability and want your help.

I fall into the Nice/Hardcore categories...

The Arizona group surprised me by leaps and bounds, they are all a pretty tightly knit group.

I live in Vegas and the Vegas group sucks! No tightly knit group, 90% of the asians at the Orleans are the type you want to drill your boot to their head.
But then again, Vegas is a place with NO Culture. If Vegas had culture, it died a long time ago.
If it is born in Vegas, it dies in Vegas. Think of the MC Escher artwork 'The Moebius Strip' and then imagine the strip eating itself. That is the perfect picture I can place in all your minds about Vegas culture.

But yes. Vegas has has the worst people I have ever seen, not all of them are bad, but a majority that I have seen are.

Hell, even Wichitah Falls Texas, WICHITAH FALLS: The armpit of the Nation! Has a better group than Vegas.
