most people don't even play singles around here anymore... once you get the hang of it doubles/freestyle/nightmare mode is much more fun. I would play doubles on the DDR machine at the arcade... if the 1p side worked correctly and if it didn't cost double the money...

I don't know of a long-time Pump player who doesn't play Double more than Single.

even on DDR I sometimes feel like playing double... reason being if I play singles alone some dumbass jumps on the other side and pretends to be playing , and no not shadowing... they just act stupid... people who have no intentions of ever playing.

I played PIU 2 years before I even came across a DDR machine and when I did play the only thing I had trouble with is doubles but I was still able to manage passing the songs I selected on double.

Pump Doubles Price>DDR Doubles Price.

Nightmare mode are so much fun but damn tiring. Ive been playing Pump like 2 years now.

Whats even more helluv annoyin is little kids and rookies trying to pick songs. Cuz they end up playing hard mode like Nightmare which they dont know how to use the damn arrows.

yeah it was aired in the U.S. i just saw it this morning. this commercial for nike finishline shoes. the commercial was pretty cool. in the beginning i saw this guy practicing PIU on this thing he set up with a pad and a buncha colored lights in front of him representing the panels. i was like WHAAAT? WAS THAT PIU?!? i wasn't sure, but then i kept watching, and i heard V and i was like "i know that song"! then i saw him competing. i thought that was pretty sick. should bring a little publicity to PIU, dontcha think? now im hummin V every waking minute. lol. maybe they'll make a couple more commercials featuring PIU and DDR huh?

V is known as Winter on Pump it Up... I haven't seen the commercial though... I think Konami should consider making another DDR arcade mix.

Yeah I saw that commercial this morning around 1am on Comedy Central.

Makes me want to go to the mall and play Winter biggrin.gif

It was about a guy who'd been running all his life, and when he played PIU.........he'd keep "running", heh.

is PIU alot harder than DDR? I've been wanting to get into PIU for some time know *since Christmas*, but i cant because there are no machines near me, the closest being Techno motion's 5-arrow config., and that machine is about an hour away

They had PIU on George Lopez, too, if I remember right. When I saw the Nike commercial, I thought "is it just me, or is that game getting more popular?" Last year at Greenspoint Mall the DDR machine was packed and the PIU machine abandoned. To me, it was a DDR alternative with 5 arrows and no one else playing! happy.gif

What home options are available for Pump? Anything other than computer? I'm about to go look myself but tacking this on couldn't hurt.

EDIT: This page says that it's not WinXP compatible, but usually when it's 9x compatible it works on XP. Can any XP users tell me if it works OK?

That's for the older PIU Fusion. Don't bother. Track down the Prex3 version, I know for sure that works fine on Windows XP.

OK, thanks. I was kind of looking forward to "take on me" but it's not a big deal. How about price?
