I've played general bemani for a whole weekend.. with no sleep, and if you count walking from arcade to house as not a break.. up on saturday morning, a few hours of DDR, back to a friend's house for pop'n music, then back out for DDR, then back to the house for IIDX, alternating til sunday night =/ _________________

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

Ahhh, probably only two hours or so. I'm usually on the computer when I play, so I'm bad for taking breaks. :P |

You guys are misinterpreting the definition of: "Break".
Playing 12 hours NONSTOP. Game, after game, after game. This would mean, no one else wanted to play, you got to play 12 consecutive hours. You cannot eat during a break. You cannot get off the machine for a break.
I'm sure all of you are overexaggerating. I myself, have played 63 songs on Endless Mode WITHOUT a single break. I did not get water, when it went into break mode, I instantly stomped: "Start". This was on Standard mode.
edit: And for those who are weak in the English department, let me enlighten you.
Break: broke, (brk) bro·ken, (brkn) break·ing, breaks : To interrupt or cease an activity: We'll break for coffee at ten.
Consecutive: con·sec·u·tive ( P ) Pronunciation Key (kn-sky-tv)
adj.
Following one after another without interruption; successive: was absent on three consecutive days; won five consecutive games on the road.
As you can see, consecutive and break are contradictions. You cannot do both. I can definitely not see anyone dancing for 12 hours NONSTOP. Even for ACTUAL dancers. _________________

Sigh. It's sad when people don't even know what a basic vocabulary term means.
Come on people: It's impossible to NOT have a break at an arcade because other people want to play. It's more possible at home, but 11-12 hours NONSTOP, NO BREAK is still rather unbelievable.
Someone said "93 seconds", that is MORE believable, lol.

Ok, let me first start, by saying that this subject I feel should have been a bit more specific. An example is do you mean nonstop with no breaks at all? Not only that, which difficulty do you mean? ok I can honestly say I have played ddr for a straight 14 hours on heavy, but I will also say that this was alternating every song with my friend, we took turns every song, but if we were still tired then we would let the other one go for a second song. By myself, alone, I could keep interest for only 8 hours at the most per day, but that is with water, and two or maybe even three breaks during this entire time. It is not impossible, your just covered completely in sweat and your legs feel like rubber bands as you stumble to go rest somewhere lol. With a friend, or maybe two friends, ddr can be somehow more amusing for a longer period of time (I am not sure why but this seems to be true). I would like to say one more thing, I could go a very long time without rest on standard mode because of how used I am to heavy mode, where I usually need breaks between a certain ammount of songs. Once you get used to something like heavy compared to standard, or standard compared to light mode, the difference is how much you move, and with that I just won't get tired playing all standard songs, nowdays I always feel like I can move very swiftly on a good ammount of heavy songs and not get tired, so i always go for the difficult ones that make me feel challenged! I love it.. |

i was thinking more along the lines of it being sad that so many people take one literal meaning of break and make it so hard on this guy. How long constitutes a "break"? You seem to be insinuating any pause in motion, as you say 93 seconds is "more believable"
HEY MY HEART TOOK A BREAK. OH HEY AGAIN!!!

It's apparent that you're calling the wrong person an "idiot", simply because the thread creater specifically said: "WITHOUT TAKING A BREAK.". This would mean, no interruptions. Which is impossible.
I also believe when you're picking the song is considered a break because you're resting - preparing to play the next song.
Retard.
^^ Wow, I can insult you too. _________________

I'd have to say about four and a half hours, give or take a bit. At the time, I didn't seem to get tired at all, but when I was done, it felt like all the past fatigue from that day just smashed me all at once. Not cool. _________________

Oh, home versions? That's a different ballgame, there.
When I was first getting into DDR, a friend of mine let me borrow Konamix, and I spent just under a day and a half raping that game, stopping only for piss breaks. _________________
