|
|
I've noticed recently that DDR has had an effect on my movement when I'm not playing. Like if someone is asking to get by me, instead of turning and walking backwards like I used to, I'm starting to subconsciously step behind another foot, like a crossover on doubles. this has also helped me in a situation such as skateboarding, where I need to position my feet just right, and have a certain amount of weight on the board. It's really helping me. Anyone else notice things like these? _________________

I definitely use DDR movements subconciously. Like the sidestepping instead of backing up thing, as well as in basketball I found myself using more complicated foot movements. Fencing too. |

when i'm dancing (shut up, when you're gay it's an every day activity) before i played ddr i used to mostly just move my hips and my upper body to the beat, but now i use my feet more and i think it looks better _________________

Well, me and my friends are always giving each other tips in the hallway during lunch, if that counts. Also, when I sit I move my feet. When I hear a song I sometimes move my feet with it. _________________

I can go up stairs faster and down them and sometimes if I really like a song I will do a quick 6 foot or so step from it when no one is looking lol. |

I find that I've grown more proficient in hackey sack, since I started stomping... which is cool I guess... _________________

Hahaha, for me, it was kind of the other way around. I'm pretty good at hack, so just playing around with it, I'd make my movements flow really well, and I've been told it looks more graceful and dance-like than the average person playing DDR... anyway, because I already had excellent control of my feet and balance because of this, I walked on to the pad and it felt natural within about three games or so - the only thing that held me back when I started was reading the arrows. _________________

No sorry. I havn't really noticed any. The only thing I notice is that I'm good at a particular warm-up in my PE class. It's where you put one foot across the other, bring the behind foot out so your feet ar normal again, then you bring foot behind your other foot, and bring that foot around so your feet are normal again.
I don't know why I just explained that to you... _________________

Well that's interesting. Being able to manuver through a big crowd more easily through DDR. I wish I gained that benefit. |

Am a dance major and have yet to notice anything different from playing ddr and by dancing. My balance might've increased for the better, but that's from modern and ballet. _________________

I've been subconciously galloping down stairs lately, and when i've got rythm and police stuck in my head it looks quite wierd.
And i wish i got better at playing hack, i sucked before playing ddr...and still do |
