Hi everyone. I'm definately a newbie. Been playing DDR max 1 for awhile and just got DDR max 2.
Any suggestions on a good song for a heavy level for a beginner? I can play a heavy song with the controler but when it comes to my feet I just can't do it!!!!!!!!!
Any suggestions would be great!!!

Kind Lady is always a good one. You might want to practice Dream a Dream on Standard, until you can at least A it, maybe AA, then try it on Heavy.

Dream a Dream, D2R, Destiny, Heaven, Kind Lady, and Hysteria are relatively easy heavy songs.

Simple answer: No

If you're a "beginner", you're not supposed to be playing Heavy yet. Stay on Standard until your skills catch up with your ambition. No need to rush it (and don't play so much with a controller. You need to train your feet and body to react, not your fingers)

If he can't beat CC(MM) on heavy, he's going to be royally screwed if he tries Hysteria. And most people say that D2R isn't a too easy either.

As for easy heavy Max2 songs: Forever Sunshine, Get Down Tonite, I Need You, Keep On Liftin', Think Ya Better D, and Try 2 Luv. U are all pretty easy.

I think you should wait a little bit to start on heavy...if you just started playing why don't you make sure you can do all of the light/standard songs before you start heavy. It's better to get As and AAs on standard song then get Ds on heavy ones.

1/16 arrows, Crossovers, 190 BPM? For a newbie?

Not for right now, but once you do start playing on Heavy, Sandstorm was the first song to make me really understand how 1/16th arrows work. Give that a shot when you're done with the 7-footers.

think ya better D, Days Go By, Heaven, and Get Down Tonight were all songs I could get at least a C or B on the night I began heavy (so..two nights ago XD)

All are on DDRMAX2, since that's all I have..

I disagree with almost everything here. Firstly, I know several people who started playing SSR or heavy almost from the get go. My friend, who taught me a lot about playing, played Afronova on SSR on his first day.

If you wait for your skills to catch up with ambition then you risk not playing outside your comfort zone, which is more detrimental than trying too hard too soon. As for not playing on controller, well I agree that nothing beats practicing on your feet, but that doesn't mean that playing on controller isn't helping at all. If you have nothing else to play on controller or keyboard still help you develop your ability to read arrows and step patterns.

Back on topic, there are a number of heavy songs that are 5-footers, Think Ya Better D, Butterfly, Cutie Chaser MM, etc. Also easy 7's like We Will Rock You, La Vida, We Are The Champions are easily passed on heavy.

Kudos to the prodigies with whom you're acquainted. Unfortunately, the person who started this thread said he/she can not pass songs on Heavy, so I don't see how their accomplishments are relevant.

I never recommended that this person stay within their comfort zone. In fact, in another thread, I recommended to someone else, in that same terminology, that this was a bad thing to do. However, there's a VERY wide area between a comfort zone, and songs you can't even pass. THAT is where this person should be right now.

But apparently this person DOES have a pad to play on, so "having nothing else to play on" doesn't apply.

So Deep, Burning Heat, Xenon, HVAM, Max 300 and Maxx Unlimited would be good ones to try...after much more practice.

Try to learn the basics, but don't be afraid to venture into new a potentially painful territory from time to time.

well I started playing Heavy on this songs:

.59: for me it was pretty easy to jump to this one
Lets grove: by far the easiest Heavy song there is, just move your feet with the beats of the music

also, do this, to get the hang of song speed and etc, try Healing Vision: Angelic Mix, on standar, if u begin to A it and even better AA, you are definatly ready to go to Heavy

Dream a Dream doesn't require much practice, and neither does Heaven... so those are probably some of your best bets. Also, ANYONE who can pass heavy can pass Shining Polaris on Heavy with AT LEAST 2x speed, if not 3x! Also,I agree that you shouldn't stay in your comfort zone. You have to choose a difficulty, and when you get good enough at that difficulty (when you can get AT LEAST a B on any song), you should move up a difficulty and stay with it, and don't whine that "It's too hard! E2.gif " Just try your best. I got the game March 20, and I had only played Beginner twice in the arcades. Now, I can pass almost ANY song on Heavy 2x speed!

Check the sticky threads in imaging, and if you're still lost ask in there.

Thanks! 1 more thing, do you HAVE to link to an off-site avatar? I don't have time to check the imaging section right now, so I'm just gonna ask you!

I'm pretty sure just going to the Imaging boards would take a lot less time than putting a question here and waiting for a response.

Have at it.
