I just got my 2nd PS2(old one broke), it's the new 50001 model that has the progressive scan. Can these models be moded?

sure can. u have to find the one that says "50001 x" or something. be careful when buying the RIGHT slidecard set though bc some of it is for old models.
slidecards work for all of them, but, its not worth killing your PS2.

nvm i have the 3.0 swap disc.
other site has like 3.2

The 5000x modles can have the NEW Dms3 or, a flip top with some of the edges shaved down (not the new pop flip top.).

When my new ps2 comes in, i'll take the fliptop from my old ps2 and put it on the new one. Swap Magic is compatible with the new ps2's right? I have the Version 2.0 SM.

i dont know . some places has version 2.0 and i dont kno if it works with that model.

also for flip cover, u have to have the same screws as in ur ps2.

like if ur old ps2 has 4 screws then u need flipcover or whatever.

Hm... im using a slidecard .... and i ordered the 3.0 the new version that mostly works on every ps2.

if u need help, just pmed me on YAHOO
sn is drugzandduzz

just leave me offline message if im not on. i mostly get on aim.

http://modchipstore.com/

heres some cheap modchip websites

Note:Those sites has cheap mod chips but not for all ps2 and some item has different shipping. meaning that some item wont have ups ground.

http://www.psxdepot.com/index.htm

i love this site. but they dont have alot of stuff and they dont even answer to ur email . and they dont even have a phone number to contect them.

anyway i ordered from them.all items that are up ground shipping is free. and to up grade to primary shipping is only 4 dollars. hehe

so my slidecard should be here this week since i primary it. peace.

It causes the disk tray motor to over work, effectively killing your PS2 over time. Plus you bought one, when you can easily make your own by following the directions at www.ps2ownz.com

which strap are you talking about? is it the one connected to the power and reset button. if it is then you need it because if you tear it your ps2 is not going to work.

Thats under the fliptop.

All you remove is the white disc, wich you put on the flip top, you also remove the top of the cd drive.

Strap? Wait, the cable? That is under the CD DRIVE. The WHITE DISC comes off of the PS2 case and onto the fliptop.

Why did you take it out in the first place.

The ONLY things that come out when you are putting on a flip top, are the top case, and the cover OVER the CD drive. NO CABLES ARE BEING REMOVED!
