The thread about "DDR girls" just won't go away, even though we all know the answer by now. Maybe this topic will distract people long enough for it to drop off the front page.

Hahahaha, good idea...we really do need to get rid of that whole DDR girls thing.

I've played DDR with my mom, but no, she doesn't play on heavy. She thought Paranoia was a cool song though E4.gif .

Hey ya Slowpoke, thanks for mentioning us 'old timers'. So.... how 'ancient' are you? I'm the 47yr. 'old lady' who has the knee issues, and yes my daughter does DDR with me in public.

I don't cramp her style 'cause I'm a Basic level player and make her look good when she's doing songs on Heavy. We usually start together for three, then I let her have the machine for doubles play. Funny how I'm usually the one who pays.......hmmmm.

Oh, and I replied to the 'you might be a ddrfreak if.....' thread.

My mommy used to play with me last summer, but then she messed up her knee more, and something happened with her foot so she can't play anymore. frown.gif

We play at home sometimes on the controller and she's really interested in Stepmania. She only plays Light/some Standard but she doesn't play often so that's why. biggrin.gif

I also know there is someone on here named "DDRmom", so I'm guessing she's a parent. laugh.gif

Cool! Your mom sounds pretty hardcore! Doesn't she know she's supposed to prefer songs like Waka Laka? E4.gif

I'm catching up, but you still have about 3 1/2 years on me E4.gif
I can pretty much keep up with mine, unless he wants to play a 9 footer. I've passed a bunch of the them at home, but it usually ain't pretty, and in public, I don't want to look like I'm having a seizure.

But you're right, the money thing is a constant E4.gif

Bummer... I hope she got herself checked out. Might be something fixable.

I don't even think a 3 year old is tall enough to see the arrows... but still, I have to admire the guy's approach to parenting!

My mom practically runs and screams when I try to get her on the pad, but I have seen a mother and daughter who both do heavy. And they're really nice!

My daughter (12) and I (47) pass Oni courses together...does that count? biggrin.gif

Here's a random screen from doing a song at home on our Ignition pads:

My sucky 10-gr is on the left side...her score speaks for itself, I guess.

Ugh, my mother is anti-DDR in almost every way. She starts by complaining that I don't meet people, I stay in the house all day, and I don't get enough exercise. Then she whines when I play DDR.

Whenever I play, she mocks me by imitating the beginner mode background characters. While listening to my MP3s (Yeah, I know...), she couldn't tell the difference between Captain Jack and PARANOiA. True story. disgust.gif

And you're in Florida? I think I may have met them. In fact, if they're who I think they are, I played against the mother at a tourney. Despite protests, the parents wouldn't adopt me.

Don't be so hard on them. Most people look pretty bad at first.

That sucks. It sounds like she has issues that extend far beyond DDR. Just hang out at the arcade as much as you can. Maybe you'll find some foster parents eventually E4.gif
