You have to play either all songs or all new songs (not sure which) to unlock one of the hidden songs.
You'll need to play Masters Mode to get the other. |

I got mine yesterday and have been playing nonstop.
So we're only getting two unlockable songs? I guess that's OK since there's a rather impressive total number of songs.
Master's mode is a great idea. I'm going to have a ton of fun with that one....I just wish they had it on 5th Style. The light7 songs are much easier there. In fact, 5th Style is the only version I've ever cleared every light7 song on.
Hey, does anybody know what the new selection in the arcade mode is? There's light7, 7, expert, 5 key, and then something written in Japanese. I have no idea what it is, but when I play it it behaves just like Expert. What's the difference? |

the 4th selection in arcade mode is dan mode, which is like expert mode with a few tweaks. It analyzes your gameplay at the end, and only has 3-4 songs. I dont know too much about it though...Except the red ones are hard T_T Almost beat the one with Sync another, buffalo another, zero one another, and nemesis another though...but when a course OPENS with holic another, its bad news.
Oh and i would like to take this opportunity to say fuck A [A], spica [A], love generation [A], and colors [A]. Hard hard hard! _________________

i unlocked murmur twins by just playing nonstop, and from what a lot of people saying that murmur twins is extremely hard on 7key, i kinda beg to differ, i passed it w/ a B on my first try (and i suck in IIDX horribly compared to other people), and i know i can do a lot better from there. Anyways, i AAed a lot of 7K songs in this style, good stuff i love this style overall, but i still can't get thru a lot of the Flashing 7s, i dun think i'll ever pass V, Stoic, and MAX300 ever
i can pass the few flashing 7s like Tomorrow Perfume, B4U, murmur twins, summer vacation, get on beat (wild style) =\
i sucks |

Does it strike anyone as odd they're trying to sell this mix for around 80 dollars? Using XE.com, 5800 yen is something on the order of 50 dollars (standard price for 3rd-6th upon release). Okay, marking a game up to 60 for importing costs makes sense.
However, after checking the Konamistyle website, which boasts a price of 6980 (rounded to 7000 for simplicity), that's still only 61 USD. Marking a game up 20 dollars for importing? Sheesh. I'll be getting it, but damn, that seems like an awful lot. _________________

Plus the fact that you have to pay added shipping on that price from Konamistyle... _________________

It's $80 because the importers have to buy from another retailer and still need to make a profit. |

Yes, this game was not distributed the normal way. It was sold ONLY from Konamistyle.com, and Konamistyle.com ONLY ships to Japan. So the importers had to buy from Konamistyle at the $60 price, pay shipping to Konamistyle, THEN pay the importing costs and sell it to us.
For this, I think a $20 markup is quite fair. And seeing as how getting 7th Style at all was a surprise, I don't mind paying it.

What is 'dan mode'? Is that the option written in kanji in Arcade Mode? And what's so special about it? |

Ah, that makes sense. I completely forgot that Konami didn't sell it the typical way, since they probably expected sales of this thing to bomb. _________________

Thay have already sold out of the first two batches they have released...so it looks good for a 8th Styles release if sales continue to do well. _________________

I wouldn't hold my breath no matter how well this game sells. Maybe they will do another KonamiStyle thing for 8th which would be fine to me.
However, I wonder if Konami upped production numbers knowing that import shops would pick up the game. If not then that means that enough copies were made for the domestic audience and yet eveyone who wanted to import the game were still able to import it. That to me means that the main people who the game was marketed to were still not picking it up.
Still, it's early on. Maybe they did just press more copies for 'latecomers' and importers. I think maybe 2-3 months from now we'd be better able to gauge if 7th's sales are strong enough to spark Konami to get to working on 8th. |
