Not sure if anyone's heard of O2Jam - the IIDX knockoff you can play online - but it was being showcased at E3. I'm guessing they're really looking pushing to get an American market in on the game. It's kind of a double-edged sword, though; while they're trying to push a key-based music game in the US, it's not IIDX. Konami, pay attention to your competition and respond with it!

Hmm. I wonder if Konami will have anything to say now that they're pushing into the market. Seven-key rhythm game and, I'm not sure, but isn't the layout of IIDX similiar to O2Jam? That's begging for a lawsuit.

IIDX's layout is something like

_2 4 6
1 3 5 7

O2jam is more like

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 (the default keys are asd<space>jkl )

I meant the SCREEN layout. Oh, and in one of the O2Jam songs (Drum and Bass?) You can hear the woman screaming from SP-Trip Machine, and the "go, go, go," chanting from RnP and BBD K.O.G. G3 Mix.

As said in the other O2JAM thread, they also borrowed lyrics/vocals from think ya better D, Love This Feelin', and Meteor Herd Theme (Sonic Adventure 2).

Hmm US O2 wouldn't be so bad, but a US Beatmania would be so much more awesome. Any new US Bemani would be appreciated.
