Almost every message board I visit has the ability to ignore users except this one. Would it be at all possible for this to be implemented?

Well, our resident phpBB gearhead is out at E3 right now, but to my knowledge, phpBB doesn't currently support this. It may be added in 2.2, but I'm just guessing - there's a whole slew of other features 2.2 will be bringing.

As to whether or not we'll upgrade...Who knows? E13.gif

I just found this over at phpBB.com. Looks like this feature will be added in v2.2 M-3. E13.gif

other php boards i use already have a mod incerted in it that does that but the answer is no

ddrfreak is a very heavily custom written board and any change in the codeing by a general release mod would probably screw stuff up (read the board is held together with spit and duct tape)

phpBB2.2 M-3 is currently in development. They'll be done "When It's Done".

So, I can't be the official word about whether we'll upgrade to 2.2 or not, but a heavy code change is next to irrelevant.

Since 2.2 is a feature overhaul, the installer upgrades the database, and replaces ALL the files.

So basically, we convert the database (which is done automatically), we tweak the predicted Warning Feature scheduled to be implemented.
(Note: We'll either tweak phpBB2.2's version, which is likely to be a percentage based system like invision board, and the rest of them, to be point based, or we'll tweak our warnings to convert into percent.)

The warnings database is the ONLY thing that is expected to need work, because everything else is being pre-included into DDR Freak.

Yes, the CODE for the site may be held together with spit and some elbow-grease, but we're replacing all of it.

Heh. I thought we'd be upgrading, but since I didn't remember any official word on it from J Dogg, I didn't want to say anything here about it.

So, good to know. biggrin.gif

I think at least a PM ignore would be a nice idea. I haven't seen any systems that allow complete ignoring of a user, but I have seen PM blocking. To be honest I've never thought about a "direct ignore" list, where a user could choose to stealth a user. (I could forsee some potential communication problems unless someone saw they were being ignored, which maybe would cause even more problems.)

Anyhoo... oh, and the percent vs. points thing: percent sound better then using a point-based system, maybe it's just me but it sounds a little more straightforward.
