If you win, you agree to maintain it for a year, and we give you a tricked-out Ransai with all the options you want, shipped for free. (lights, art, themes, everything. retails at around $320.)

No offense, but PHP/SQL development...concept design and development....plus a year's maintenance would run you at least $1000. You have one desperate puppy on your hands if they will do all that work for $360.

I'll have to concur with this one. Designing it, alone, should get someone a controller - asking to maintain it for a year is way out of line for what you're getting. I mean Ransais are good, but not that good :/

Heh. See, the thing is, we'd like to be able to make little updates to the site ourselves, being computer literate and all, but as far as making big developments... we'd like to hire the developer and make them part of our little family. We just offered the controller as the first kickoff to get things established, so that we'd know that they'd like what we do, rather than have a cut-and-dry relationship with some random developer.
