At home I play in socks. How you people play barefoot, I don't know. I use a chair as a bar so I don't fall or something with socks. At the arcade I use my trusty blue Airwalks. I have noticed "skate" shoes are better for me to wear on DDR. Flipfloppers are crazy, and the feet of arcade barefooters must be very diseased.....the pads I've seen aren't exactly sparkling clean.... _________________

I have a pair of Official DDR Shoes!! Ok not really - I have tried several times in flip flops but doesnt work, and going barefoot can sometimes be cold, so I go with Vans - good because they have grips on the bottom so I dont slide off or anything like that! |

I play in flat soled sneakers at the arcade and bare feet at home, I'm way too scared I'll slip if I wear socks.
I used to take dance classes but I can't find my split-sole jazz shoes, I have a feeling they would work really well.
Oh, and a tip, never try to play in knee-high dr. martins. No good. _________________

I usually wear black Phat Farm shoes unless I can't find them.
If I can't find them, I wear my white Converse shoes. |

Unfortunately I have huge size 13 Nike's. They're very grippy, but they're dragging me down and I need something lighter. |

Well..honestly..for the past few months I've been a lot better while playing in my white flip-flops with a pink bow on them. I tried playing with sneakers two days ago, and they were just so much heavier. Yes...I can pass Paranoia Survivor 270 in them(flip flops that is). Max 300 is difficult..and I don't really wanna try Unlimited..but I can do fairly well on Legend of Max..even though I beat that song once and now I can't beat it anymore...so for me it's either my flip-flops..(the pink bowed ones, or my black ones) or my Pink Etnies. Yay! So..keep on DDRin'

I rock the old school style. Blue Convers Check Taylor high tops all the way. they work great, its like playing shoeless because they are so light, flexabul and comfertabul, but you have padding and great ankle support
Buy cons, they really are the best _________________

I use my regular tennis shoes...*checks foot* New Balance! I *have* to use shoes on any hard pad (like a cobalt or one modded on wood), otherwise I find it really painful. But on soft pads I don't use shoes. *loves nice thick foam...* |

I play bare footed at home for better gripping and with socks for faster sliding. At the arcade I have these clown shoes (Nikes) but they look too big for me They've got to e weighing me down. _________________

Well after 6 months of playing in the same shoes mine are finally falling apart!! I've been looking into buying some Adidas or New Balance shoes because they are light-weight and comfortable. Can anyone assure me that those would be better to buy than say Nike's or some other basketball type shoe? I'd hate to waste my dollaz on something that just gonna bring me down. Thanx!

I play DDR barefooted at the arcade, and at home. I'm a tad bit clumsy, so shoes don't agree with me. |

Converse All Star Chuck Taylers! (preferably low cut)
I agree that shoeless is the best, thats why i love my chucks. Theyre light and tight enough to be like playing shoeless. They help from hurting in long game hours too. Plus they re just cool looking, and cheap. Theyre only like $20 a pair. Ive ruined quite a few playing DDR so the price is a good thing. |
