thumb.gif Good! That's exactly what ddr is, a friend thing. I made the HORRIBLE mistake of dating a ddr girl. It's terrible. It may work for some of you people out there, but for me, it just did not work at all. All we did together was play ddr. It was so ghey.

hi trupnoi E1.gif

yup, I play DDR with my boyfriend Jet all the time. He and I met playing DDR and we've been together for a little over a year now.

I love him so much. love.gif

DDR is a friend thing. Unless, you go out with a DDR player and then you do other things besides DDR.

That fella Fig(who posted earlier) and I are together. We're around the same level, and sometimes play together. (Like someone else said, our song preferences vary, he likes hard stuff/stamina stuff a lot *PS/Paranoia Eternal/Evolution/Cartoon Heroes/Sakura*, I like the fun easy stuff *like My Sweet Darlin'/Dive To the Night/Last Message/Blue Impulse/ever snow*

My and my bf play and we're both pretty good heavy players, but he's still better than me at PA. Most other couples that come though are mainly guy-really good, girl-really bad.

me and my gf play together all the time. DDR is actually one of the (hundreds of) reasons we started dating. When we met, she was happy to learn i played b/c she always wanted to get good at the game. Almost a year later, she's now up to 7's and 8's while im on 9's and 10's.

But to answer what others have said, yeah its mostly a friend-type game. Since she's my best friend, it works out well and we have friendly competitions. Plus we have a billion other things in common. If you're lucky, ddr boy/girlfriends can work out pretty well, so long as people don't obsess and take it too seriously

Or DJX and midnightdancer E15.gif . I think it would be wierd to have DDR as the basis for the relationship, or to have it forced into the relationship by one person, but if both people happen to play and enjoy it and you have a connection above and beyond the game, then good times riiight.gif .

My boyfriend and I play together all the time. He's really the only one that fully understands my obsess- er.."interest" in DDR. riiight.gif It isn't the only thing we do and have in common, but I think it's neat that we both enjoy it so much.

My boyfriend and I play DDR and no, I didn't meet him through DDR disturb.gif Actually, I taught a friend of mine how to play, who then taught my Chris how to play. We meet through this mutual friend and we've been dating for about 7 months now. I don't get to see him a lot, but when I do, we like to play together...

My friends Bossycow and Mimi on the boards are dating and they play together all the time too.

It's just like anything else, if you are dating someone who likes to do some of the same things as you then naturally the two of you will go out and do thoes things together...

i myself havent seen that many couples. Me and my bf play everytime we get together (each weekend). hes the one who got me into the game. Now im addicted E10.gif My bf plays standard- heavy, i play light- standard..
so i cant really beat him at it yet.

Question:
I wonder if any couples can get over competitive and start getting into fights because of ddr.

I play aaaall the time, my boyfriend just can't keep up. He plays sometimes, then gets frustrated get's down on his knees and tries to use his hands...
Every now and then he'll come watch me play and brag but it's not something we do together.

My three previous bf's were ddr boys. I play(ed) all the time with them. We did other things (duh) like go see movies, out to eat, bowling, the usual.. But it was something we could tease each other about. But the guy I currently like refuses to do anymore than possibly watch me play. Apparently, he and my brother saw DDR over in Germany, and are now scared of it. They don't know how I'm not falling down all the time playing it, but they claim there's not enough liquor in the world that would get them drunk enough to get on a machine. *sighs*
I'm trying to see if he'll wear my pixie wings next time I play butterfly E10.gif

To the people who had funky relationships with DDR folk, I think that if you are obsessed with the game w/o a significant other than you will be with one, and it's not good for couples to only have one thing in common. As I've said before, DJX got me into the game and so its a bonding point and not the "basis of our relationship" to quote him.

I'd be so embarrassed to go to the arcade and play with him tho riiight.gif , he's lightyears ahead of me E4.gif Motivation for me to get better I guess...
