The BNS DX pad comes with an adapter? If it doesn't would I have to order one from i.e., RedOctane? And what do you mean people on XboxLive would complain about me having a "controller?"(I don't have XboxLive but your statement made me feel curious) |

The BNS pads may or may not come with an adapter... The latest ignition style pads have both PS2 and Xbox connectors on them... I can't say either way which ones the BNS pads have..
Myself, I ordered my pads back end of January (they're dead now due to how much I play, but still), and I had to purchase adapters...
Best option I'd say is this... If you want to know for sure, give buynshop a call. It's not toll free, but then you'll know for certain. _________________

I'm new to ddr and Im looking into getting a soft dance pad for use with stpemania. But I don't want the pad to feel like a diaper, and to slide and bunch up, I also want to be able to use shoes.
I had an idea, what if I shaved off the spikes on the bottom of my chair mat, that would be on my pad, and put my pad underneath the mat (there would be about three inches of extra mat around all edges of the pad). Would it work, I think my carpet is cheap enough that it still would be able to register the arrows. It would keep the pad from bunching up and sliding, and allow me to use shoes not directly on the pad. And give it a hard, close to arcade feel.
What do you think, would it work?
Need more info?
Any help
please. |

okay, the only dealer i know of that sells pads you can use shoes on would be BNS. there pads are pretty good at 50 dollars a piece and if you buy the cover pad for it you can use shoes. its jus like what you wanted to do except its like a sticky plastic sheet.
unfortunately whatever you do u won't be able to make a soft DDR pad look or feel like a real arcade pad. it jus doesn't work

Its a pretty good pad for its price. Mines still works after 6 months of moderate-heavy use after fixing a minor issue with control box. Like many ignition pads, the fabric underneath the circuitry will tear after time, but duct tape seems to address the problem. It's still pretty responsive (no ghost steps yet) and the inserts underneath the arrows haven't moved. It does have a plastic feel surface, where it'll stick to your feet if you don't wear socks. And the hard dense foam is a must for any ignition pad. If the pad is built perfectly, then it should last quite a while if you take care of it. Try to avoid folding the pads, to prevent further creasing. And take care of the cord, because I learned that it can pull wires connected to control box and cause the pad to malfunction. I dunno if there is a way to prevent insert underneath from moving, I guess just hope that they made the pad with enough adhesive
Overall, I highly suggest the BNS DX pad. |

My opinion of the BNS pads is that they suck, but that's my opinion... In total (four pads, two initial, two replacements), my four pads didn't even last two months. _________________
